The Dutch Abandon Multiculturalism.

As far as I know Sikhs aren't doing anything in Europe that poses a threat to their culture/civilization. Islam has Shariah Law, and nothing remotely close exists in Sikhi. If they (Muslims) are not going to integrate, then can you really blame the Europeans?

This should have been done 10-20 years ago. Better late then never though, let's just hope it has a significant impact.

Once governments realise they can get away with banning (or at least placing curbs on) religious attire for Muslims, they'll try it again and with another minority group. It doesn't take a huge leap to see over-sensitive White Europeans asking for the Sikh kirpan to be banned because it could potentially be used to hurt someone.

I don't agree with it, but if a precedent is set then certain people will try to push the boundary as far as possible. You can bet your bottom dollar some bitter Muslims will ensure Sikhs are also made to suffer (by lobbying government or even raising issues in public arenas) if they themselves have had certain religious freedoms taken away.

Very true. I support the integration of minorities. But I feel that if or when they put a ban on Islamic style dress, we Sikhs will also become a victim of such a legislation. It's hard to imagine that Muslims will be targeted and Sikhs will be left alone. When Goras turn anti Islamic chances are they will they also turn against us. The west is seeing the rise of a new fanatical form of secularism in which religious minorities are prime targets. Take for example that nut case in Canada Tarek Fatah. He is an extreme secularist to such an extent that he is against his own people the Muslims. But he is not just restricting his extreme form of secularism to Muslims. Today he is also on the forefront of opposing Sikhs especially on the Kirpan issue.

This new form of extremist secularism is not a positive development as far as Sikhs are concearned. This is the type of extremism that has led to anti Sikh laws of France. The scary part is the western media seems to be sympathetic to this new form of extremist secularism. I don't know where the west is headed. But things don't look good, especially for Europe.

work of Kuljug.. like Guruji Said .. Time is going to come when you can not even workship god. ..

Well if things continue in the same pattern, taking everything into account, the logical conclusion at the end of it all might very well be what Guru Ji suggested. I'm sure we can all agree that those who have co-opted religion for anti-religious purposes haven't helped matters. But these western governments are throwing the baby out with the bath water. To use another laboured analogy, instead of removing a rotting tree from the forest, they're setting fire to the entire forest! Fools.

Good for them, they could take it a step further and freeze Muslim immigration altogether as well. If the Muslims really are causing that much trouble then it ain't worth the trouble. Plenty of other places to get immigrants and have a better chance of integrating them as well.

All of Europe needs to follow this measure if they want to save their civilization. Hopefully Canada and America will take note as well.

and who do you think would be the next target ey?? Sikhs are the next in line based on religious attire

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
