Paji, I think we need to approach matters with these various (fake) Dera's with great caution. Rather than getting hot under the collar about certain groups outright hatred of us simply for being Sikhs, we need to re-double our efforts to outgun them in terms of serving the community, acceptance of sehajdhari's and those of an erstwhile Hindu or UP/Bihar background within the Sikh Panth and of course parchaar. When the original leaders of RSSB were Amritdhari who pledged their lives solely towards Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj we simply need to highlight the business practises of later leaders of an organisation which demolishes Gurdware and how they colluded with Indira to remove SGGS Ji Maharaj from Beas for financial gain. But the key is how we interact with RSSB devotees. Pyaar and pure logic will win them over. Aggressiveness won't.

Not sure how the original Radha Soamis could be Amritdhari as the cult believes in a living Guru. They also allow cutting Kesh and have added their own words to Gurbani.

Jaimal Singh indeed was an Amritdhari who wanted reform within Sikhi as a response to the corruption that had increasingly crept in after 1849. Under Jaimal Singh the title deeds to the land at Beas were rightfully held in the name of SGGS Ji Maharaj. Similarly, Dayal Singh of the Nirankari's merely opposed idolatory practises that had crept up within Sikhs after 1849. We also see that Baba Ram Singh (that the Namdhari's claim as their own) was in fact a wholly committed Amritdhari who never claimed to be a living Guru. The "Living Guru" concept only arose when certain folks in the 20th century started realising it was a license to print money. On top of that Indira started funding them big time by pushing the line that sehajdhari's are not Sikh. By our own leadership de facto accepting that definition that sehajdhari Sikhs are effectively Hindu's (a premise which is clearly false) the result was that hundreds of thousands sehajdhari Sikhs ended up in the clutches of these fake Dera's.

Veerji, Jaimal Singh believed in Swami Shiv Dayal as his Satguru. This is evident in the letters he wrote to Sawan Singh, the guy who eventually succeeded him. Later these letters were collected and published as a book called spiritual letters. Shiv Dayal wasn't a Nirankari. He was from a family who believed in the Gurus to some degree and even did paath. Later he began doing sangat of Nirmalas from whom he began learning. He even began doing katha at the local Gurdwara. He was a heavy smoker of hooka and chewed a lot of tobacco paan. When Sikh soldiers who were stationed near by began coming to the Gurdwara he was doing Katha, many raised objections of how can a hooka smoker and paan chewer be allowed to do Katha, then he stopped doing his katha at the gurdwara but started privately in his own home. Jaimal Singh who was a Sikh soldier began doing his sangat during that time.

When Shiv Dayal died, many began to claim the little of Guruship. Jaimal Singh was one of them. At first he did not do it openly, but only privately amongst his close followers because he did not want to offend the central authority of the Radhasoami faith in Agra and who had better claim to being the successors of Shiv Dayal than Jaimal SIngh who was an unknown rogue at the time. The claimants who had a better case and much more following was Rai Saligram(the closest chela of Swami SD), Shiv Dayal's own brother, and his wife. The Radhasoami faith is a fake hybred faith mixing Sikhism, with Yoga, and Sufism. Nothing original. It is not a religion created by enlightened men.

Baba Ram Singh Namdhari on the other hand was a different case from these rogues. He was a pious Gursikh whose Chelas began calling him a Guru after he died. It's unfortunate the Kookas had to go the wrong way, otherwise they could have made very good Sikhs today.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
