Crossing Legs

Hey guys, just hoping for some advice and help

Basically, the issue is, I cannot cross my legs. When I go to the Gurdwara, I struggle to do a chounkri and have to improvise and spread my legs out. It's really embarrassing when I see elders sitting comfortably and I am struggling. My knees stay high up and my feet hurt which makes it painful to sit cross-legged for more than 2 or 3 minutes. Are there any exercises or stretches which may help me loosen up my legs and make it more comfortable to sit cross-legged? I am otherwise an active person who exercises regularly and has a healthy diet.

I am appreciate any advice or personal experiences which may help me solve this problem

Thanks

you'll get used to it over time, just keep trying and slowly increase the time you spend sitting. if you need to get up and take a break, go outside the darbar and stretch a bit before you return to sit back down. at home, try sitting cross legged on one or two pillows while you do paath. when you get used to it, remove a pillow and so on. look up some stretches on yoga websites to do before and after. also, you can practice sitting cross-legged in langar hall, as its easier b/c the mind is distracted by the food.
