Trying But Failing

Since sunday i've been doing more bani's and getting up at amritvela, am non-amritdhari btw. This was just to get me closer to Sikhee than I was before. I try my hardest during the week and then when my energy builds up and the end of the week, Kaam irrigates the mind, the mind takes the bait and fails. Afterwards I feel foolish and shameful, It's just so hard to keep consistency with me. Well I managed for 6 months, with Vaheguru's kirpa. But now I feel like am a failing Sikh, I should be truthfully not the opposite. What's the best method to tackle that urge and especially when you're own mind is saying do less bani and do bad things? I've read most of the Kaam related topics in this section and still the mind doesn't wake up and accept that it's bad to do these things.

Thank You.

stay busy, use up that extra energy your body has in the gym or seva or walks or anything else. go to sangat everyday no matter what. listen to katha and try to apply the teachings in your own life.

if the kaam is too bad stop eating grains/milk/tea/sugar/pop and eat only raw fruits and vegetables and water. the nature of the mind is unstable/temporary. so if you get caught up in kaam just remember that it cannot go against the nature of the mind, it too is a temporary unstable state and will disappear in time. do ardass.

I understand your situation. Its hard. I think you're living in duality. Remember WaheGuru is controlling everything. If you for an instance decide to get overwhelmed by kaam by giving yourself some excuse then you're not recognizing WaheGuru as a supreme entity. But on the other hand if you try to suppress kaam then that won't work either. I guess save it for reproductive purposes only. keep it natural. Change your diet too. Get rid of caffeine and sugary stuff. Workout. Workout until you're tired enough to sleep. If you do paath then be sure to do simran too. Once you're following Sikhi then these 5 vices (empowered by kaam) will try to attack you. Try to spread that energy around your body by doing Simran. Motivate yourself to fight against it everyday. It won't happen overnight but you're not failing if you're making some progress against it. And ofcourse do Ardaas daily and WaheGuru will change your surroundings looking at your effort.
