An Apology From An American - Shooting In Winconsin Gurdwara

I wanted to share an apology that was given to me from an American this morning at London Liverpool Street Station.

As I came out of the station I heard someone call "Excuse Me Sir", initially I thought I may have dropped something, but then when I heard the accent I realised what this could potentially be.

He started off by apologising for the approach out of the blue - He obviously recognised me as a Sikh - My Guru Ji'sblessed Sikhi Saroop (My Dastar and Dara Parkash).

"I am very sorry to hear of what happened in my country and I would like to apologise to you (Referring to the shooting at the Gurdwara saab in Winconsin)".

Initially I was taken back and he also looked a bit worried not knowing what my reaction would be.

My Immediate reaction was to Thank him and I put my hand out shaking the gentleman’s hand.

He finished off by saying "Have a Blessed day".

It was a great feeling to have been recognised as a Sikh and then for the apology.

Who says that Sikhs cannot be recognised?

Guru Maharaj gave us this Sikh Saroop for a reason and I experienced that today - Khalsa mero roop hai khaas.

Awww that was so thoughtful of him to do. Must have been hard for him as didn't know if you would appreciate it or not, as emotions build up easily. But i think no Sikh would have got upset as it was not his fault. He took on the onus of apologizing for the bad lot. And you too did great by shaking his hand and thanking him. He Will remember that for a long time, and respect Sikhs. Maharaj ji gave dastaar for a reason, you are right, that also the other qualities of a Sikh are connected to it, as would be recognised.

There is goodness in all, but to practice it is another thing, and everybody is equal as to make that happen. Maharaj ji also taught us to respect other religions, and that guy showed that God is one, and his creations too, he was also hurt by what happened. God bless him too. Thankuji for sharing that.

wow thats incredible. paaji u shud of sed that it was an american shootin at sikhs, but it was also an american who risked his life for others in there (officer murphy).
