GurFateh!

Last time we went to visit Buckingham Palace and Houses of Parliment we were told that we would have to take off our Sri Sahibs to enter. This was back in 2009 and in the end we refused to take them off as its just not an option and got a refund; and that's after initially waiting for 2 hours!

So now we are heading back to London next week and were wondering if this is still the case? I know that the London Eye have given a stubborn no to entering with a Kirpan but what about other places in London e.g. Madam Tousards, Tower of London etc. Is it just pot luck if you get caught?

Is it best to email both places asking for confirmation or just go there and see what happens on the day?

What's the best way to handle such situations?

Thanks

just done the whole London thing a few weeks ago and found no problems.

Admittedly we didn't go into houses of parliament but we went to Madam Tussauds, Tower of London, Sea life, all the museums, WB Harry Potter and had not problems.

I would suggest you contact Buckingham Palace and HofP before you go.

BUckingham palace is still a no no .... madume tusades etc have been fine for me no issues ...

Had a small one which i gave to my mum who was allowed to take in ... baby kirpan comes in handy :) ... however told them about it and they were fine as i mentioned its small etc - security did ask if its sharp so told them simply run it across my hand if you want ... glad they didnt

well it seem obvious that even in this country our so called sikh councils - federations - british sikh councils - what have they achieved even if we can't wear the kirpan here ?

actually best not to go - and waste time looking at the riches stolen by these goons from around the world - money is better spent elsewhere

Sikhh federations have done alot and if you cannot look at the positives whats been achieved then i think you should look harder - be positive and support the causes (not saying you dont but your comment is way too negiative) ekta bruv

If it wasnt for these councils i wouldnt have been able to go an take part in the olympics and enter parliment - what did you do to help raise awareness? and im sure im allowed to wear my kirpan at work, playing sports etc etc etc .... we even fight for our causes in the EU where we cannt enjoy the same freedoms.

Best not to go - these so called "goons" have looted and plundered agreed most of the people now in power have no idea of how they were aquired (not saying i agree) any way why not go? with out first hand knowledge of whats been taken and "plundered" how do you expect people to have decent well informed converstations - its proven that rather than just reading experiencinvg something allows a person to recall it better and can discuss better as a result.

i've been buckingham and trutfully not all the stuff on show was plundered much was given ... and truthfully it was an experience. Not everything is negative - personally think london should be experience :)
