It doesn't change the fact that it's not the Bibi's fault, does it? I think it's easy to say that one should seek help before the hair grows too much, but in reality it is far from simple. Just consider that those who you're talking about are doing no more than following what their Guru has told them.

I agree its not the Bibis fault. It cant be too far from simple especially for the Bibi in the other post, then again im not a medical professional. And i understand that they are just following what Guru Ji has told them, thats good and i admire it. Still doesnt justify the dhari for me though.

It is perfectly fine veerji to have different opinions but stress need to be given on a method of sharing personal viewpoints across public.

you cant just blame it all on waheguru...i saw tht the bibi was wearing glasses...waheguru gave her bad eye sight..but that didnt stop her from getting glasses and rejecting nature...

and we dont keep kes because its natural...we keep it because it was the maryada of puraatan munis, rishis and sadhus...to wander away from the world into mountains and forests to do bhagti...they detached themselves from the world and to symbolise this they kept kes uncut....likewise khalsa keep the sme maryada to live detached spiritually but attached physically to the world...

secondly bibia should be allowed to remove excessive facial hair which starts going against natural boundries of gender...i dont think guru will abandon his daughters for tht

I posted this on under thread..just take whatever you will from it:

I was speaking to senior gurmukh regarding excessive facial hair on female . Their first response is they should get it checked out for- hormone imblances. He said back in the puratan times, sikhs in general were more in touch with being healthy and more in touch with their body knowledge- chemical reaction so on and so forth (estrogen/testorene etc) and seek ayurveda treatment if required including bibiya with excessive facial hair. Now days we are quite obivilous with our body functions so much so any suggestion of getting treatment regarding improper hormone imbalances are consider against nature, going against guru's will. We turned guru maharaj into protestant version of wrathful vahiguroo just waiting with shastar on other side with countless jiv in que waiting for in turn to doom them into some narak khand.

Anyway, coming back to women with excessive facial hair. Singhaniya with excessive facial hair, shows strong character by not seeking the treatment. I would expect same strong character shown if someone does not wish to treat deformities in the body. i wish her well in long journey a head (real actual battle is inside of beating panj choors) and work towards milaap with vahiguroo.

Strong characters shows in excessive facial hair, should go in history books but with that being said, we need to be extra careful we don't let someone hijack and turn this into - some maryada barometer or merit system thats the only and true way to show strong characters in Sikhi.

I have studied in christian school in calcutta. I know how exactly right wing mindset works. Most right wing do the same thing of all religions, they will speak staunchly against it but when it comes to personal life, they are first one to follow things which they are so staunchly against.

Veerji, where is written in our books or in any books that says that WOMEN must not have facial hair? I mean is there definition that explains both men and women gender?

I know hitler tried to explain and define the pure blood human and then we saw his madness and how he ended up killing millions of non-blue eyes.

We dont say that when we are talking about other bimaarian do we Veer Ji?

So veerji, is having facial hair a bimaari now? I mean we have singhs who are khoday and chinese ppl who do not have thick beards and so on.. Do they all got BimariayaaN?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
