I am 16 and due to my good karams i was born into a good religion and enlightened family. My family is all Amaritdhari and I follow there path but I have been looking online and i find buddhism as my type of way of life.

I like the fact the don't worship god because if there is a god why so much hate and pain in the world, why so many kids suffering in Africa Believing in a god creates so many questions for me so it leaves me confused. I don't know which is the way to go. Although i like Buddhism very much i dont want to disappoint my parents who have full faith in sikhi.

I am also 16 and live in a Amritdhari family and i have also studied the Buddhist religion bro.... They are trying to reach Enlightenment and they are trying to stop there cycle of birth and death jus

Young Singh - One peice of advice for you and it will take your staright to the truth. Read about the lives of the leaders of both faiths and which ever side you feel is "better" follow that. Subtle h

Where we are now at the specific moment is a direct result of our previous karams from this birth and previous births. What we have now is a certain amount of things we can not change and the rest we've been given a clean slate.

We are all beings separated from the one Ik Onkar and the second we leave our mother's wombs we're conditioned in kalyug. It's part of our journey to understand what is around us and meet Waheguru. Without separation, we wouldn't be able to understand Sach/Truth/bliss if we don't first live in falsehood and pain.

Have a listen to this amazing katha.

Young Singh Ji,

Both Buddhism and sikhi are great dharams but you are born a sikh and your family are into sikhi. It would be best if you learnt more about sikhi.. Have you read the sri guru granth sahib jee? Please do not rush; read and try to understand what sikhi is about.

Daas would recommend the videos above about bhai mani singh and he does well talking about great aspects of sikhi. Daas says this with great respect the comparisons he does about other religions is occasionally inaccurate - so please take those comparisons as a pinch of salt (you can search why by using Google and reading books but I do not want to correct him as he is not here to defend himself).

All in all it is a lovely katha and it is in English!

Please forgive daas for any mistakes. Satguru mehar karan

Hmm What i feel incomplete about Sikhism is the belief in the god. Saying god is almighty and such. I am not letting my ego come in the way and say i am better than god in any way shape or form. I want to feel the god, i have somehow not felt this supreme being yet. I do meditate and i am in a blissful state when i do. I love the feeling and love all the teaching both Buddhism and Sikhism has. But i haven't felt that god yet.

It is your own ego stopping you. Its clear you have not understood Buddhism yet either properly.

Your just going to switch religions and mess your mind up. it is not a game.

You need to give sikhi a long try, a good look at bani. using sikhitothemax.com

have you watched that video posted above yet? whats your views on this?

what do you meditate on? is it saying waheguru?? and isnt that bliss God? think about it.

I guess so i mean. I do have the same goals as Sikhism which is to end reincarnation and even end suffering. I just cant fully accept a god yet. I still live the premature sikhi life, i go to gurdwara, keep my kesh, dont eat meat ETC...

This is my way of proving a God :) it came to me through meditating so yeah it was a Secret but algood NEED TO HELP A BROTHER OUT BRAHS :p

HERE WE GO:

If I ask You or an Atheist that how was the Universe created they might say The Big Bang. Then I might say what was before The Big Bang?? they might say nothing we don't know... Scientist say That there was ONLY Energy and Matter existing before the big bang that's what scientist say right, but with energy and matter alone you can not get something out of nothing Right?? Then That person might ask ME how do you think the universe became? I say God created it. Then you might ask how did God come? how was he created??

I say He was always there never took BIRTH and will never DIE, never CREATED and will never be DESTROYED (GURBANI tells us this too in Japji Sahib), then you might say PROVE IT.... e=mc2 (energy = matter, matter= energy) if neither can be CREATED NOR DESTROYED than when does it begin to Be ???, when did it ever begin ??? . It never Did he was Always there just like the scientist say that energy and matter was the only thing existing before everything came into existence. Scientist, Atheist, non-believers don't realize this and they never will THEY CAN'T ACCEPT THE TRUTH..... HOPEFULLY I HELPED BROTHER I AM ALSO SIXTEEN DUDE NO JOKE I went through the same thing with the Buddhist religion haha no joke, then i realised that Guru Granth sahib ji there is nothing like it man. It has all the answers in it bro... SOMETIMES TO OPEN YOUR EYES, YOU HAVE TO CLOSE THEM my friend :D :D :D :D... MEDITATE BROTHER FIND GOD and Be happy.... Be PROUD TO BE A SIKH :D... waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh bro :waheguru:
