Bhai Behlo Ji’s (contemporary of Guru Arjan Dev Ji) granth, Soochak Parsang Guru Ka, also shows Kattak date.

Mcleod claims that the Soochak Parsang Guru Ka, is based on Bhai Bala's Janamsakhi, and not an outright work.

Yes I have read that Kabit, but it is strange though, as Guru Ji approved of Bhai Mani Singhs janamsakhi's giving vaisakhi. Later interpolations, Bijla Singh is bit vague, for what reason would such a deed be done ? It would make no difference to Guru Khalsa Panth, as the birthday is celebrated anyway.

I can understand in terms of Miharban's janamsakhi, as they wish to do harm to the Panth, but in this case there seems to be no logical reason.

The earliest Sikh historian out of the ones mentioned above is Bhai Gurdas Ji, being during the times of the 4th and 5th Guru Sahibaan. Bhai Bala only came into contact with Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji when they were alraedu quite mature. So how would they know for sure the birth date of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Therefore most authority is in his statement. I also go along with the bachan of Baba Nand Singh Ji Kaleravale, who state kathak ki pooranmashi.
