There are text messages going around to suggest the Management Committee at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Slough has cancelled the Akhand Paath Sahib (booked by local Singhs of the Sikh Federation (UK) almost 12 months ago) and will not allow the programme on Sunday 6 January in honour of the Shaheed Singhs to take place.

The President (Sadhu Singh Jogi) is blaming the Stage Secretary (Jaswant Singh Randhawa), the Stage Secretary is blaming the President (who has been in Punjab for about 3/4 weeks). Rumours have been circulating for about 5 weeks and the Management Committee has not responded to verbal and written appeals by the local Singhs of the Sikh Federation (UK) to clarify the situation.

The Sikh Federation (UK) has now told both of them the Akhand Paath Sahib and Programme on Sunday 6 January organised by the Sikh Federation (UK) will go ahead and are pushing ahead with arrangements. The Management Committee has been asked to sit down with local Singhs of the Sikh Federation (UK) and sort out any differences before Friday 4 January to avoid any disruption during the Akhand Paath Sahib or on Sunday 6 January.

The Sangat are urged to turn up in large numbers for the Arambh of the Akhand Paath Sahib Ji on Friday 4 January at around 9.30am and on Sunday 6 January when the main programme will be between 11am and 1.30pm.

Instead of this why not just change the venue to another local gurdwara sahib, then do a massive media campaign exposing the corrupt individuals of the committee who won't allow the event to be hosted in honour of our shaheeds, and in future get sangat to boycott these corrupt elements. Otherwise all that will happen on the day is most likely a kick off

Under pressure the Management Committee gave assurances yesterday that the Akhand Paath Sahib would go ahead.

However, there is fall out from the Dhunda affair. Restrictions are being imposed . . .

For example, any advertsing should not mention the programme is being organised by the Sikh Federation (UK).

Watch the space . . . for what will come next . . .

The Sangat are still urged to turn up in large numbers for the Arambh of the Akhand Paath Sahib Ji on Friday 4 January at around 9.30am and on Sunday 6 January when the main programme will be delivered by the Sikh Federation (UK) between 11am and 1.30pm.

could you ensure pic's are taken at the event just incase of this comittee trying anything

Both Sikh TV channels have been asked to promote the event and give live coverage on Sunday 6 January.

Sikh Channel and Sangat TV were sent the wording for the scroll on Sunday 23 December and text messages are being distributed.

Sangat TV did show the scroll on Monday 24 December, but not sure how many times it has appeared since that day. Probably in part as there are so many other programmes that have been happening.

Several requests have been sent to the Sikh Channel since Sunday, but they have yet to put on the scroll.

We are hoping a powerful Promo for the event will start this weekend.
