Sikh Federation (UK) programme on Sunday 6 January to honour Shaheed Satwant Singh Ji and Shaheed Kehar Singh Ji at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Slough

AKJ OR FED - doesn't matter at all - what matters is SANGAT.

SANGAT IS highest of all.

YES and local SANGAT is very supportive of the local sevadars of the Sikh Federation (UK) and will show this on Sunday.

Sikh Channel have taken the event off the scroll.

Sikh Channel have also not shown the Promo today - showed the shortened version a couple of times last night.

Sikh Channel first did nothing for about 10 days, despite several requests and promises.

The Sikh Channel then asked for money for the scroll and Promo - local Sikh Federation (UK) Singhs agreed to pay (the local Gurdwara said they would not pay a penny).

Scroll (excluding all references to the Sikh Federation (UK) started at around 4.30pm yesterday, but has not been shown today). Promo also cut out all references to the Sikh Federation (UK) and speakers/Jagowale Jatha.

There are a number of local Sikh Federation (UK) sevadars in Slough who have direct debits set up for the Sikh Channel and were also to donate £500 to the Sikh Channel on Sunday. The actions of the Sikh Channel now mean this donation is unlikely to happen, some of the Singhs have said they will need to think about their direct debits.

The Sikh Channel has shown its true colours and sided with the anti-Panthic elements in Slough.

TODAY - The Channel has inserted "Sikh Federation (UK)" into the scroll. The shortened Promo has also been on, but no mention of the Sikh Federation (UK) or relevant images of speakers and Jagowala Jatha.

(please do not bring in this thing bit about ekta and singh sahib giani ram singh - that was yesterday. I'm speaking prior to yesterday?)

Very nice to see on TV, different factions/jathebandiya of Singhs once again turning up for a panthic Event...yet again no Akhand Kirtani Jatha - neither Slough or London members.

Another Questions (Please do not take offensive - reply with evidence)

Apart from bhai manvir singh from banbury (comming when he can), in all of the recent issues the panth has dealth with (dudlely/scotland etc - satkar for sggs protest, mixed marriage protest, luton - sikh girl case, dhunda issue) why is there no AKJ UK members participating?

No representative from their committee? No Kirtani of theirs? No Prominient members attend? - is AKJ UK Panthic or does it care only abit the income and survival of it's jatha and views????

Sorry if this sounds like I'm out to get AKJ Singhs. I'm just very curious why they don't allign themself with the panth. These are valid questions and any Singh that comes to the protests will realise that if they look back, its the same faces, the same people who make a stand for the panth when its needed....

AKJ - are AKHAND KEERTANI JATHA - understand that first. There utmost seva is KEERTAN - which is a happening all over the uk and world wide. If they haven't been present in the questions and place you mention - doesn't mean they don't no alignment in the panth. - for crying out loud what kind of basless point are you making.

The AKJ have a handful of singhs who do seva of yatra to Pakistan every year,a handful who do some political work -i.e Sikh coucil - British sikh council , a handful doing SOPW work for 84 prisoners in India. And loads others doing GUPT seva which non of us know about way way beyond our imagination.

STOP your curiousity killed the cat questions and say something fruitful - which seva do you do yourself and are inclined to - ? forget any JATHA mate.

Thank you to all the Sangat that attended the Shaheedi programme at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Slough on Sunday 6 January and make it a success.

Thank you to both Sikh TV channels (Sangat TV and Sikh Channel) for both broadcasting the programme live across Europe.

The one down side was the Management Committee at Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Slough refused to let one of the Singhs speak because of his involvement in the Dhunda affair - the Committee continue to hold grudges and certain anti-Panthic individals continue to exert undue influence on and within the Committee. Singhs from the Sikh Federation (UK) at a national and local level exerted pressure on key figures in the Management Committee (President and General Secretary) who eventually agreed the Singh could speak. But this situation was then reversed largely due to one or possibly two others in the Mangement Committee raising objections. We know who these individuals are and they are associated with another organisation (responsible for bringing Dhunda to the Slough Gurdwara) and should feel ashamed of stopping a Singh from paying his respects to our Mahaan Shaheed.

Dam Dami Taksal - is an educational institution, therefore according to you Sant Ji and gursikhs like Bhai Fauja singh should just do what their jatha specialise in?

Taksal - Teach and learn about Gurbani, ithiaas etc.

AKJ - just do kirtan? lol...

like i said everyone has their reasons - do what you can for the panth mate - don't worry about rest of the panthic jathebandia too much - they're all doing a wonderful job already.Some in these groups will stay the same i.e listen to keertan have langar and go home and think about seva. Some will go the extra mile and do more - but there is no way of knowing who will as it depends on circumstances of the individual. However there are some that are gupt - maybe your one of them who do more than anyone.

Think about it this way if they are already doing something and what you or i want from them - then surely there are valid reasons for them no being there - not just paintbrush everyone that are doing nothing about this and that.

Lastly not sure if you will find the answer to your question - but one thing is for certain - honest seva what ever one can do even if it's 5 mins a day will yield results - so stop the criticism bandwagon and do what u can matey.

It's great to see 3-4 organisations (the gurdwara, two channels and the Federation) get into such a fuss about promoting one event and a £200 advertising budget. It gives me a lot of hope for how an independent Sikh nation would be governed.
