On one side it is said that meat should not be allowed on the Gurudwara premisis, and on the other side it is overlooked. The Gurudwara in Strood, Kent UK has 2 premisis, and on both meat is allowed, this is widely known but no one does anything about it.

So why don't you take up the challenge and approach the committee of the Gurdwara about this issue.

I agree he should do that, but sometimes if someone is young parents might try to stop them from doing it because they feel like it isn't important and thus discourage you to do it.

U r meat . U r allowed on premise. Wors the diff?

LOOOLL !!!!! Hahaha

Kabeer, the dinner of beans and rice is excellent, if it is flavored with salt.

Who would cut his throat, to have meat with his bread? ||188||

The difference is, whose life is getting cut short/sacrificed in order for others to fulfill the taste of their tongue.

it's easy to talk/act like nothing's wrong when it's not your own life on the cutting block.

Gurbani teaches love, compassion, control of mind/tongue and giving/generous lifestyle... amonst many other things.

Bhagat Kabir Jee challenges us and exposes our double standard.....which is that 99.9999999...% of us are only willing to eat meat if there is one condition. And that condition is that the meat is from anyone/anything, except our very own selves. So it's like double-dipping. We sacrifice someone else's life while we get to enjoy the taste/benefits/rewards that come from that sacrifice.

Similarily, another way to look at it is from another context:

A politician wants to start a war and enjoy the fruit of winning a war. However, the politician usually never wants to be involved in it directly (eg. being on the front line).

The politician is willing to send his/her neighbours' kids off to possibly die in a war...but not his/her own kids....and then the politician will be the main person alive enjoying the victory and getting medals/awards, etc.

Instead, it should be that not only should the politician send his/her own kids to participate in the front lines of the war.....but also the politician should also be there on the front lines.

It is, that we are giving others death for our own pleasure...while we are not willing to put ourselves in the same position which we are putting others in.

Dhan Dhan Bhagat Kabir Jee, Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Jee, Dhan Dhan Guru Hargobind Sahib Jee, Dhan Dhan Guru TegBahadur Sahib Jee, Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Jee!!!
