what happened to sikh unit and lion heartz movement

im from the inner city and these were 2 of the things bringing me closer to sikhi

i cut my hair, drink, eat meat and all that

sikh unit and lion heartz talked about real issues and stuff you can relate to and understand

from that i discovered tigerstyle and immortal productions, decided to research into the history of sikhism and learned more myself

my parents arent that religious but i was brought up going to gurdwara on a sunday once in a while and thats about it, and i slowly drifted away from as i got older, after the age of 14 or 15 i went twice a year maybe at most and that was a 2 minute in and out thing

this is changing now as i get more and more into sikhi

my school was mostly full of muslims and most of the sikhs got terrorised every day, even at age 14 15, how do you learn to deal with stuff like that when your parents are "papus", all the muslims know exactly what they are doing, they get trained hard at home while our kids are busy at punjabi school learning the alphabet

same with the young girls, what are they taught by there parents about the environment that they are walkin into apart from "dont talk to any boys" and tell us if anyone is bothering you so we can run to the teachers and complain, can you blaim them for getting involved with muslims who know exactly what they are doing

i only just found this website when looking into what happend in leicster and Hammertime007 seems to the be only one talkin sense in the other post

who is here for this next generation of kids, the same <banned word filter activated> is going to happen to them, there not any more prepared for it, sikh unit and lion heartz were good at raising awareness and getting through to people like myself and many others

the bros will always be doing what they are doing, there going nowhere, too many singhs thinking because they met 1 musllim in uni who is nice and friendly that they are all like that, if youve never gone through what some of us have, you will never understand

The biggest problem with sikh people is....

among 100% of sikhs only 10% have sikhi in their blood inspite of being born as sikh........

Being a sikh still i admire muslims to how they are grown up.. how they are taught about their religion- Kattar hunde...

In the same way we need to teach our children as well... SIKHI SHOULD BE CULTIVATED IN BLOOD...

And When i talk about sikh girl - what 90% of sikh girl think is sikhi is only for males not fo them - They never bother to keep hair.. They never bother.. to understand their religion and they never bother to dress up well in a sikhi swaroop.. then how can we save our daughter...

The only way to make our children strong is to teach them about sikhi the day they are born...

Infant should be sent to some academy where from childhood the sikhi - being khalsa should ne taught....

Sangat goes to Gurdwara... but how many really understand the kirtan and gurbani - the answer will be probably NO

Thinks should be changed.... i am worried about my religion i am worried about my sikh... !! I am worried about the sacrifice made by my Gurus should not go in vain....

Need to change things... i or u alone cannot.... we need to be group and should rethink how we can contribute to our religion....

We've had these discussions before. On a religous forum like SS plenty of people are going to blame religous factors regardless of their experience with the issues at hand. Different people from different backgrounds all have their anecdotal experiences which are all somewhat valid.

My point is there is no single way to stop this. A plan of action lasts right up until the enemy punches you in the face. Bare that in mind. Be adaptative, be proactive, be vigilant, be knowledgeable. All without fear, without hate.

paaji reason is because many want to have the layer of a lion but in fact under that layer is a donkey....sikh unit etc wanted to act like lions but many failed them inlcuding gurdwara and comuinty members....when a girl gets abused in any way they want protection... in not a pro violence person but i want all singhs to go to a victim of rape/sexual abuse and ask them what they want.. all they want is some one to protect them by any means....personally i would protect them by physical means some may say protection by words such as "lets have peace"... not for me...

By the way did anything happen to the rapist?

He was charged with rape I believe, thats the last I heard..don know what happened since then, whether he appealed or what sentence he recieved etc..there was an update post on this forum somewhere about the fact that the guy had been charged..not sure if the case is still going on..
