Vahiguroo ji ka Khalsa

Vahiguroo ji ki Fatehh!!

The Delhi Gurdwara elections went on smoothly in many Punjabi suburbs of Delhi today. One of our family friends stood up as a candidate in Badal party. Another acquaintance represented himself in Sarna's. Though the competition was stiff and tough, it seems that Badal's side is heavier in our constituency. The lust for seat and power can be seen through the free pick and drop transportation service from home to booth, given by the candidates to the people. It is signified through the candidates standing outside the booths persuading people to vote for them, distributing alcoholic beverages for free and distributing anti-party literature doing nindya of each other and printing pictures of each other's leaders doing anti-Gurmat acts like drinking, smoking and eating meat.

A Bibi lands from jail to support her party candidates

Struck in the jam this evening, I waited for the large car to move ahead so as the traffic could clear from the narrow lane. Out came a familiar face jailed for the alleged killing of her daughter. Bibi Jagir Kaur had taken a short leave from her prison sentence for the promotion of her party in the elections. Her spotless white clothes represented purity and truth. Her appearance made her look an epitome of simplicity and pureness. The dark side remains concealed in her white robes. These don't tell us the story of three candidates whom she bribed and made them change their teams.

The result is that everything is on sale (ਬਿਕਾਊ) Paath (Akhand-Paath...) is on sale, so are tha Paathees; Kirtan is on sale, so are the Raagees; Kathaa is on sale, so are tha Kathaakaars; Beerr (ਬੀੜ) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib is on sale in shops, on the Internet

Looks like we (the 99.9 percent category) have become traders (businessman, ਵਿਉਪਾਰੀ ਵਰਗ)!

Gundargardi, Shaarab and booth capturing

A more shocking story of a nearby suburb told me how the goons of one party violently battered the candidate of the weaker party. Free branded whisky and beer was distributed for the sake of power over Gurdwaras! Another incident of fake votes by bhaiyas having the surname 'Singh' and tying turbans was frequently seen in many areas.

Being a voter to such an election, that splits the Panth, to me is itself a great sin.

In this world, countless (ਅਸੰਖ) are mentally blind (ignorant, fool ਮੂਰਖ ਅੰਧ ਘੋਰ) who have made the Gurbani a mundane business.

Countless are who have made Dharma a mundane business.

Countless are who have made Sikhi a mundane business.

Countless are who lie and practice falsehood (Jhooth, Koorr) to make money (ਧਾਨੁ ਮਲੇਛਾਂ ਖਾਈ, ਮਲੇਛ ਮਲੁ ਭਖਿ ਖਾਹਿ) on the name of Gurbani, Dharma, and Sikhi

The leaders and pardhans of today's Gurdwaras are no less than the wicked 'mahants' who are greedy for money and power. The breeze is hastening to form wind- the notion of the noveau Gurdwara Sudhaar Lehar is forming in the hearts of the Sikh youth. A movement that would surely come one day washing away the corruption and filth from the Panth.

The breeze is hastening!

Dass

    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
    • Good way of putting it, bro. One of the ongoing themes of Gurbani is the fake saint. Whether it's fake babas in Punjab or English-speaking personalities in the West, it's an continuing problem of religion through the centuries (and it's not exclusive to us by any means, this applies to all human societies).
