I have to agree what's the use of wasting milk to clean floors ? It's purely a ritual milk does not possess any cleaning or disinfectant properties. Hence there is no benefit or purpose to it's usage for cleaning floors. Use the proper cleaning products for the job.

Personal opinions don't ever really matter on traditions like washing Sri Harmandir Saheb's marble floor with katchi lassi.

We could even start arguing that the gold used at Sri Harmandir sahib should've been used as donations to poor instead.

There was no gold ever at Harmandir Sahib during Guru's times. it was installed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh's whose many actions like having multiple ranis were out of line with gurmat.

Gold is not shown any importance in Gurbani -

"Jo nar dukh main dukh nahi maane , Kaanchan maati jane"

With this type of thinking let's see how far we can go.

-We shouldn't use milk lassee, it can be used to feed the poor.

-We should also remove the gold from the Darbar sahib and other Gurdwaras as that can also be used to feed someone.

-While we are at it we should also remove the marble from the darbar Sahib parkarms and sell it so it can feed someone.

-Finally why not just do away with everything and also dismantle the Sri darbar Sahib altogether brick by brick and sell it and with that money feed the poor.

Seriously where does this type thinking end? Where do you draw the line?

But you agree that, "Gold makes the gurdwara look nice, a home fit for a king." and your doubt is only that, "Milk is for drinking, not washing."

This is far more better than condemning the gold plating and comparing the milk to Shiv ji's semen.
