What do you do if someone tries to rip your turban off?(Or if your turban fell off)

Hello,

My question is what do you do if you are involved in a fight and your turban falls off , or the 'enemy' tries to rip it off? What would you ? Would you fight and dont care if your hair is seen? Take it off by yourself and wouldnt give him the chance to take it off? Run away? Please some serious thoughts - because this can happen everywhere and everytime . I mean if someone else sees your hair, what would you do/think/react?

Tie a strong turban so it doesn't happen. Protect your head area so the enemy can't touch it. I'll be honest, it's happened to me once. I quickly put it on as the guy tried walking off. I then went and got revenge. Lets just say he doesn't make turban jokes anymore. Most people were understanding, and they've forgotten about it now. Running away is a bad idea. That's double the besti.

Why do you tie a turban then? Isnt it supposed to protect and be tight and not to fall off...? I mean everytime you get involved into fight , they will try to focus on your turban , because they feel proud or something if they take it off.. Furthermore if someone puts down the turban the value of the turban and what the turban stands for/was supposed to be gets low... I mean you never show hair , and then people see they will say like uuhhh hahha or something. They will everyytime try to focus on your turban and try to rip it off ...

So why ask the question?

If it's to cover hair, why not cover facial hair??

If you're a proper fight, what happens to your turban is inconsequential. You're fighting for your life. Don't focus on your turban or other people seeing your hair - it may get you killed. Focus on the enemy, the target and nothing else.

this is what dumalla shasters were for i.e: blade in the front top section anyone trying to grab the dumalla from the front gets cut also used from lower positions to attack throats etc.

But yes in todays society tie a tight secure dastaar firstly. secondly maybe have a smalles patak or keski incase your dastaar comes off, make sure your rair is securely fastened underneath.

Wicked warrior makes a valid point, if you lose your dastaar in a fight so be it, the primary concern is to not get too caught up in it maintain your structure and be ready for more oncoming attacks. A distraction could cost you your life.

Depends on the situation, if someone tries to knock / pull it off, try not to let krodh take control, but would have to definately teach that person a lesson!!

    • Ganika was not Amritdhari.
    • Really good question
    • If you do enough naam simran and live decent life but you are not amritdhari.. will that help to get liberation?
    • You shouldn't pity them. They know very well what kind of guy they're getting involved with, it's just that they happen to prioritise the material benefits of the relationship before anything else.
    • Good topic. I wonder if Aliens are in this 8.4 million lives..  I listen to Kathas and they say naam simran will give us Mukti as we keep reciting Waheguru, we will liberate ourselves. So, is this all about focus? I heard from our seniors that we become what we focus on and there are stories too such as one old person was dying and his last wish was to have a mango that was hanging on the mango tree in front of his eyes but he died before eating that mango.. then in his next life, he was born as an ant that was living in that same mango.. I get confused if I should believe these stories or not.. Also People say that all our family members, friends, relatives were there with us in our previous life too.. Due to good and bad karams we had with them, we are born again to clear those karams. So if someone loves you, appreciates you , it is because you had good karams with that person and if someone is always criticizing you , that is because you gave them hard time in your pichla janam. My mother passed away at really young age. Is it because she was done with all her karams with everyone or she will be taking birth again? She was not Amritdhari but she lived decent life with good values.  No matter how good and polite you are, some people will always love you and some will dislike you.. So will we just keep coming back to human form to get the clearance of these good/bad karams?? Can you please give more details..What exactly we need to do in order to get rid of this reincarnation cycle? What does the term rehatvaan mean. Please explain veer ji..Sorry for my silly questions. Thanks Sangat ji
