48 hour simran of satnaam waheguru

Simran of 48 hours(akhand) has been started in Gurudawara Gaindser Sahib(Ambala) from 1 march and bhog will be on 3 march to pay homage to baba ji of Shahbaad. President of above said Gurdwara asked baba ji(now incharge) for Akhand paath but they insisted on simran of 48 hours(akhand) instead of Akhand paath.

President of Lakhnaur Sahib Gurdwara Niranjan Singh has written to SGPC to take action against disrespect to gurbani and stop this akhand simran.

Whats the issue veerji , kind of confused. If Sangat decided to simran for 48 hours, what is the issue :s? Unless they are saying we shouldn have akhand paaths or something along those lines. Please explain. Waheguru

People wanted to do Akhand Paath but baba ji insisted on simran(48 hrs). Only paath is done in Akhand(continous). Simran(continous) is something first time I have heard, it is sort of replacing Gurubani by "Satnaam Waheguru". It is not according to rehat.

Akhand Svaas Svaas Naam Simran is one of the things every Sikh tries to achieve.

Akhand Naam Simran is not some new phenomenon... you really need to do Sangat of Gursikhs and read literature of Gursikhs, along with literature about their lives.

Again, the same anti-spirituality missionary mentality.

First missionaries are against Akhand Paaths. Now that Akhand Gurmantar Jaaps are taking place, they have a problem with those too and are saying "do Akhand Paath instead".

Who made up that rule that only paath is done in Akhand? Where do you get this information from?

This is not the first time that Gurmantar Jaap is done continuously.

And it won't be the last.

There is no end to Naam and Anahad Dhuni.

There so many shabads and words used for Akaal Purakh, but they cannot replace gurbani.

Whenever sikh do a function in his/her house he seeks the blessing of Guru by mean of Akhand Paath, Sahaj Paath and Sukhmani Sahib Paath.

Rehat is clear about doing Akhand Paath never read of akhand simran(48 hours). Simran, remembering god and meditating these are things to be done in individual capacity.

When a person die sikhs usually do Akhand Paath in rememberence of deceased.

You seem to be misunderstanding what he is saying. No one is saying you should replace Akhand paths for the deceased with simran. However to act like doing 48 hours of naam simran is beadbi is ignorant.

1. I am not ignorant. Nothing can replace Akhand paath and surely akhand simran(48 hours) cannot ever.

2. It is ignorance on part of Baba who decided to do this sort of prcatise replacing whole baani with Gurmantar.

3. When you do paath you talk to Guru, you talk to Akaal Purakh and you get teachings from your Guru, people who just want do simran(48 hours) I feel they don't want sikhs to read gurbani.

There is no official rule to have Guru Granth Sahib Jee Parkash while doing Nitnem, Keertan or Naam Abhiaas if it's in a house or even outdoor setting (like a park). (I'm talking about daily event...not some special event where there is like 100+ Sangat members.)

Secondly, who said Guru Granth Sahib Jee won't be present? It's in a Gurdwara, I'm pretty sure there will be Parkash.

Is Naam and concentration on Naam not a blessing? Come on..

"Simran, remembering god and meditating" are things which CAN be done in Sangat capacity as well.

All around the world Naam Abhiaas is done in Sangat form, I don't know what you are talkin about...trying to change the reality or something?

And please give complete information. Name the Baba Jee who passed away. Name the new Baba Jee.
