Are the 5ks Permanent?

I was reading a book called the select sayings of Guru Gobind Singh. It is derived from both the Dasam and Sarbloh granth. Guru Gobind Singh talks about the khalsa many times and never mentioned any physical symbols. This leads me to question has Guru Gobind made any reference to physical symbols of the khalsa in his writings? I found one in the same book but it was written by some sadhu in 1711 which doesn't make sense to me. I'm not arguing that there aren't any physical symbols but only if they are supposed to be permanent?

I know how to read Punjabi. I dont want to read the whole book when I only need answer to 1 question. With the English version I would be able to search Khalsa and find my answers easily.

Even if Guru Gobind Singh Jee didn't specifically write about 5 K's, there are so many examples from other historical literature, that there is no possible way that the 5 K's are "temporary".

The 5 K's are such a simple topic and easily confirmed through historical literature. If we start doubting even the 5 K's (which Kala-Afghana mentality wants), then it would be a really sad state of affairs for Khalsa.

This all started when I researched about the rehat maryada. Guru Gobind Singh clearly states that Guru Granth Sahib is the eternal guru for sikhs. But the definition of Sikh according to the rehat maryada is;

• Believes in the existence of One eternal God
• Follows their teachings of, and accepts as their only Spiritual guides, the Guru Granth Sahib and the ten human Gurus
• Believes in the baptism (Amrit Sanchar), as promoted by the tenth Guru
• Does not owe allegiance to any other religion

My interpretation from what Guru Gobind Singh said would be anyone who follows the Guru Granth Sahib is a Sikh. And since Guru Gobind Singh never wrote in the Guru Granth Sahib there is nothing about the khalsa. Shouldn't the rehat maryada be changed then?
