It's takes a strong courage, honesty and level of candidness/frankness for baba/parcharaiks/activist to take a stand openly regarding their personal life decisions-if they want to be behingum or gristhi regardless of rumors, nindya and other implications. All though behingum/celibacy marg is also parvan in Gurmat, its not for everyone and also not normally pro-actively encouraged.

Besides everything comes down to karams, this reminds of sakhi of sant waryam singh ji ratwara sahib requesting permission from sant isher singh ji rara sahib wale so that they can be behingum/celibate- sant baba isher singh ji rara sahib wale told them, behingum marg is not for you as yourself in your own previous life had forna/thought to be gristhi in this life. So ultimately its not up to us, everything is in karam, pre-ordained based on unfullfilled forna/thoughts from previous lives.
