My Brother The Islamist

When a Sikh, Buddhist, Hindu, Jain and to a lesser extent Christian, Jew becomes really religious rehit wise he usually becomes a good person. But the more religious a Muslim becomes the more hateful of non Muslims he becomes. I don't know why. I've interacted with plenty of Muslims who are nice people. But usually they are always non religious types of Muslims.

Hi,

It is wrong perception. Islam is the largest practiced faith on the planet and Muslims are most practicing people among all religions

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/12/03/conflict-theology-and-history-make-muslims-more-religious-than-others-experts-say/

So most Muslims are really committed to their faith globally and most Muslims are good, nice people. You mistakenly see "extremist" Muslims as "practicing", which is wrong in my opinion.

Also, in England, Muslims have more problems than say in U.S.A. I don't know why..

Khair anyways, this is my first post...welcome me and ask me anything about Pakistani Punjab, Islam, or how Muslims see Sikhs in our region etc. I'll learn from you guys too Inshallah..

Cheers :biggrin2:

waaahabi, salafi and sunni are the worst type of muslims and sects of islam that anyone can follow.....they generally tend to give all of islam and muslims a bad name by thinking, acting and behaving like animals due to following the sunnah (which are derived from hadiths stating 3rd hand sayings and traditions of muhammad) literally.

shia, sufi, isamali and ahmediya tend to keep themselves to themselves can co-exist with non-muslims relatively well and not harass others to join their religion.

The quranists are pretty good aswell also most practising sunnis iv met are good people waahabis and salafis are the bad ones they hate all non muslims

That is why I said most Muslims I have interacted with are good people, they are your average Muslims. But the ones who are really strict types i.e. the ones with the long beard and shaven Mustache, those ones are the ones that hate non Muslims those are probably Wahhabis or Salafis. The Taliban types who are featured in the documentary in this thread.

BTW, from where in Pakistan are you originally from? and welcome brother

Oh yeah..don't worry, extremist wahabis and salafists hate everyone. They even hate other Muslims :cool2: .Wahabism/Salafism is puritanical form of Islam...very strict and literalist..so you can expect craziness from them. But traditional Islam, or what is called as global Islam, is not Thank God!!!

And where from punjab? umm thats a hard question. I lived all over Punjab..My father was a government officer so he will have 'transfer' to new area every now and then..so I don't really know where I'm from Punjab :biggrin2: My dad side is from South Punjab (Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur side) and my mom side is from Faislabad side. We are originally from Jalandar. From village called "Uggi" ... All the people from Uggi who settled in Pakistan named their new village as Uggi too...

Ki haal hai bhai ji. A sincere question, what is the general Muslim community's view on Hadith and the wordings where it commands to fight against non-Muslims until they profess there is no God but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger?

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum.

Uhh..can you directly give the specific source flor the above mention statement? Then I'll be able to explain better that in what context that saying/verse was revealed etc. As far as I know, there is no general verse in Qur'an who commands about fighting non-Muslims. There are verses talking of war but that was in a specific context of Prophet Muhammad vs Qurish tribe wars...Give a specific source/quotation and then I'll be able to reply more specifically Inshallah..
