I just wanted to advise that according to EDL's website there will be a demo at Downing Street on this bank holiday; if Professor Sahibs Vigil is still on going then maybe (just to be on the safe side) extra Singhs should turn up as some of the EDL members either dont know the difference or use the EDL as an excuse to be abusive to all Asians.

Those muppets of the Sikhs against the EDL will be protesting against the EDL demo at Downing Street. Ironic how they don't do anything about Professor Bhullar case but will come out to protest against the EDL.

Unfortunately our community also has been infiltrated by left-wing liberal sell-outs, working with government back-hands to create a false sense of "harmony" amoungst community's. These scumbags job is to divert attention from real issues, create histeria that 1000's of sikhs are going militant, only for them to then claim grants from the government to "defuse" the problem.

Ek Saath- these guys used the 1990's Slough SP vs sullah fights to create a funding pool to "solve the problem" they infact just brushed over the real causes of the tension, held dumb workshops with sikh children and muslims only for a sullaah to start dating the sikh lady they employed to coordinate the whole thing! lol.. ridiculous!

Basically Sunny hundal and his 4 or 5 dimwits found a financial loophole while Labour were handing our grants left right and center. These grants were aimed at highlighting and combating any social upheavals within ethnic groups to maintain social harmony which played with their "multicultural Britain" ideology. They developed "think tanks" for individual religious groups.

Basically Sunny/Ranna and co. would grossly exaggerate any view points that could be interpreted as extremist and tarnish the whole community with it. So ONE Sikh stands on stage and says he believes young Sikh women are at threat from pedophile grooming gangs, who target victims by race- they would take this back to Government HQ and say HORDES of Sikhs are going mental, and will kill muslims, only a matter of time before all Sikhs lose their ability to think for themselves and we will have partition style war on the streets of Britain.
Please give us £££££'s and we will combat this for you, by going into the liberal media and portraying these Sikhs as extremists before they get a chance to influence more people. The dumb government paid out.

That seems to go against the whole ethos of being a Sikh. The essence of a Sikh is that he stands up against oppressors. When disgusting racist facists march in the street making open threats and directing abuse towards muslim women and children the Sikh stands up tall and strong against those facists. I have no connection at all with 'Sikhs against the EDL' but I salute them for their courage and ethics.

I don't understand why we have to endorse groups like edl or be chums of them get into slippery proxy war..Can we not have our own group based on sikh ideals? If we read gurbani, guru maharaj resolved lot of disputes within fanatic hindus and fanatic muslims by giving very neutral peaceful resolutions within gurbani based on sikh advait gurmat ideals.

This. To those who think that this is just about Muslims....how much racism have Sikhs suffered since 9/11 ? And before you say 'it was because they thought we are Muslims', is this really the case ? Do Londoners not know who Sikhs are ? Speak to Sikhs who went on the underground after 9/11 and find out how they would get on the tube and everyone would stare at them. Did ordinary Brits going to work in London (who have all studied RE) not know who Sikhs are ? This is racism, and after Muslims it will be our turn.

We have had problems with a minority of the Muslim community but we need to deal with these ourselves rather than jumping on the EDL bandwagon. Pakistani grooming gangs should be dealt with by the law, otherwise vigilante groups should be formed to deal with them.

Nope, Sikhi isn't taught in RE lessons. At least it wasn't in mine. Last time we had a proper lesson on Sikhism was in year 2. In secondry school it isn't studied, emphasis is on Christianity, the other Abramhamic faiths and Hinduism/Budhism. Also at GCSE most schools will focus on Chrisitanity for the course. So most people have never heard of Sikhism. Also, the BBC and other T.V channels hardly ever put Sikh documenteries on, if they do it's normally late at night.
