Wow. :respect: The days of Indian rule in Punjab are surely numbered. 29 years. Each and every year the numbers just get bigger and bigger. Don't know how many were there today.....some put the figure at 80,000. 80,000 Sikhs united in openly calling for Khalistan. Its the first time I'd seen this. It used to be that there were just a handful of older men calling for Khalistan, with most worried about being denied an Indian visa oif they did so openly. But today, virtually every man, woman and child was united in Khalistan. You gotta hand it to the UK sangat. Other countries get 100,000 for nagar kirtans but even then these are organised as fun events with music and dance. What we had today was 80,000 people in unison shouting for Khalistan. Amazing :respect:

yes so good to see so many people together, youngsters too so little kids with so much knowledge.

Year by year it gets bigger thats the thing with Sikh morcha's they dont get smaller like most people's protests....the Sikhs are unique in this.

And the thing is if we keep educating the youth, if we keep using brain instead of braun we will manage to achieve our goal of Khalistan and out of the enslavement of hindutva extremists in india. If we spread the respect and love for each other as 1 family we will fight as 1 family. The enemies of Sikhism namely the indian brahimwad establishment and paki islamo-fascists doesnt want that.... they want your attention diverted into petty secterian and jathabandi matters.

We are in a war, and we are the soldiers of waheguru in this war...only few instances in life is this war physical but mostly its intellectual and spiritual war against enemies of Sikhism.... a war we must and will succeed in if waheguru wills it.

Police at the end confirmed numbers were 15-20% higher than last year. Route was quite good. Good to see Panj Pyare at Whitehall, 10 Downing Street, Houses of Parliament etc. Would be great if some could post photographs.

Last year the police said numbers were up by 30% on the previous year.

The turnout was amazing - considering event was organised late (last 2/3 weeks), Sikh Channel did very little to promote the event.

Could have had many more banners and placards, more megaphones needed and those to make speeches on route to tell non-Sikhs what was happening and what we were remembering. Entrance to stage should have been better controlled and more co-ordinated speeches in English.

Meeting to take place in early July to plan for 30th anniversary. Everyone should start to think of ideas to make start (hopefully in Hyde Park), march (through London) and freedom rally at the end a huge success.

Generator caught fire at the start of the rally in the Millbank. This meant the first hour was lost with no sound system. Some Singhs improvised and got generator and sound working.

Just to let the Sangat know - Manvir Singh (from Slough) who had hired and transported the generator asked those at 10 Downing Street (Kesri Lehar group) if their generator could be used - they flatly refused!

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
