He pierced Dasam Granth sahib with a spear and threw it out from window.

Can you provide us with any books/links which suggest the above. Jathedar Kartar Singh Jhabbar, from what i have read on his life, was a no-nonsense lionheart. I have always admired him, but would would still like to read with interest, any info you can provide.

That is what i had read about him till i got information otherwise. He died in 1962 a virtual lone heart.Had he been that involved

in reform movement, he would have been at the forefront.

That thread mentions some books on him. Especially from Jhabal family who had been at the forefront of sikh agitation.

We all know there was a revered Nihung figure Sahib singh Kaladhari and we also know that nihungs were custodians of

akal takhat till 1920. To say they were not there and are anti panthic is pure ridiculous.

Those who live a simple life and have contributed immensely for panth are being termed as anti panthic that to without knowing how many Nihung sampardayes are there in India and how they contributed in akali movement of 1980s.

Did anyone heard of big huge church right beside darbar sahib during British Raj? Well I have seen the partakh picture of it from anonymous source.. There used to be church right beside darbar sahib.. Now this is pretty interesting scenario.. Connect the dots..Huge church establishment near darbar sahib denotes huge protestant influence on local sikhs opnion then same opnion were turned into protestant influenced sikh ideologies... This huge church establishment is testimony how certain popular figures can easily have gotten influenced.

Yes the church was nearing construction. Sikhs approached commissioner, a civil servant, trying to convince him not to build it.

It is generally believed that he had very bad nightmares in which shaheed singhs were appearing. He got frightened and then demolished this church. Also when it was nearing completion some masons died after falling from top.

Not only that there was a palace like Bunga on south side of Harmandir sahib. It has disappeared now.

huh? the church was being created by the British not the SIkhs. But deep inside Sikhs resented this. Right around independence Sikhs tore it down and built the current clock tower in it's place. Nothing to add to this.

Veerji, you are quoted the Jhabal family. This family were one of the first traitors of the Sikh quam in the 20th century. They are the ones who introduced the congress party to the rural Sikh at a time when virtually all Sikhs were Akalis. To hide their own skeletons they are throwing mud on a recognized and respected Singh like Kartar Singh Jhabbar. As for the Dasam Granth Beadbi story, for sure this has probably been made up by the Nihangs in order to demonize him because his Jatha of Singh beat them up.. They have created similar stories about Banda SIngh Bahadur, Bhai Randhir Singh and Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Just think veerji for a second, can you imagine a leader of the Akalis who themselves read Dasam Bani in their Nitnem going to Akal Takht and thrusting a spear into the Dasam Granth and throwing it out the window?? and the panth would not even react to such a beadbi? it just simply cannot have happened.

Usually victorian christian missionaries would take help from locals and worked through them and in this case- they couldn't have put foundation/ni without help of some sikhs let alone huge building..their aim was ideological war fare to divide and rule ..we see how christian missionaries these days would use punjabis to write about jesus in gurmukhi to spread their parchar, there is no denying lot of people around that time were influenced by them and now we are realizing its coming back to bite us in our arse..!!!

British during that time couldn't spread christian parchar so what they do? They break us from within by influencing local sikhs with their idealogy so that sikhs among themselves can revolt against each other with ideology war fare....its systematic way and we see its effect until now.

Church was broght down much before 1947.

Johny ji

Jhabal family was panthic to begin with as the post itself says. There were many other akali leaders from majha

who joined congress. Master tara singh had pact with them. Gyani kartar singh joined congress under that pact.

If jhabar was such a good leader why did he disappear from akali scene afterwards.he died in 1962 if i remember correctly.

I will get book by Narain singh on him and then let you know. One thing i cann't tolerate about him is breaking maryada

inside Harmandir sahib. Who is he to deliver speech inside central shrine.

He was virk from gujaranwala distt. They were known to take turbans off from running trains by sticks( dangs)

Veer ji we all know how some sikhs would read sri dasam granth sahib and but when it comes to parkash of sri dasam granth sahib side by side with sri guru granth sahib ji- even when its slightly lower with sri guru granth sahib, they will consider it as beadhi- because they can't stay in context with their one dimensional black and white mindset . They find it insulting, now can you mix what they perceive as beadhi + ignorance and see whats the reaction..its pretty evident forcefully removing sri dasam granth parkash..its pretty easy to connect the dots..!!

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
