No it wont. Spiritually strong people will not be affected by being in politics.

The sad part is that such people do not want to join politics and hence power

goes in the hands of scoundrels.

On topic I think it will.......coz more spiritual the person is, the heart becomes more soft and innocent (bani makes it)......can't manipulate or diplomat things......doesn't like to talk to anyone except other people on the same level and Guru sahib,,,,,,,coz being spiritual is totally a diiferent world.....(Guru sahiban are akal purkh ji himself, so nothing is impossible for them)

just as example like Guru amardas ji......When Guru Angad Sahib's son Daatu ji kicked Guru sahib in Goindwal, Guru Amar Das got up and said in extreme humility,"Sir, pardon me, my hard bones might have hurt your tender feet." After this the Guru left Goindwal and went to his village Basarka. He confined himself in a house outside the town without letting anybody know about his whereabouts.But then we have Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji (10 Gurus = 1 jot).........

May be there are different kinds of spiritual people.......

LIke for Bhai Kanyia ji "sabh Gobind hai sabh Gobind hai, Gobind bin nahi Koi" and Bhai Nand Lal Ji.....more on softer side

then Baba Deep Singh ji, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur etc

This is very very very good topic..i really appreciate penji starting it.

For regular people like us- we need to strive for sant jeevan then afterwards after parpati then sipahi..for regular people like us its not possible to become gurmat version of sipahi until we live and breath life of saint which is - naam, bani, having sant attributes - sat, santokh, dya, gyan, sam dristhi(one non dual vision for whole creation) and sant also have killed- kaam, krodh, lob, moh, ahankar... because sant attributes are the ones who would control sikh sipahi aspect. Gurmat does not parvan or accept sipahi aspect alone of an individual but accepts sipahi aspect properly controlled by sant aspect..Hence sant is written first and sipahi..sant-sipahi.

Even sant jarnail singh bhindranwale became sant first, if we look at 20 years of his early life of bhagti, naam, sam dristhi, sat, santokh, dya, gyan..and these are usually ignored by historians..he became sant first than sipahi, youths only known his sipahi aspect not sant nor they have any desire to learn about sant aspect of sant sipahi..

In fact its quite boring for them if someone is talking about sant aspect as sipahi aspect they find it sipahi machoism (super hereos- iron man, super man type of fantasy) very appealing because its easy and it sells as things which are appealing and exciting to our gyan inderas (visionary sensors) are followed besides its easy to be sipahi than sant and thats the reason we are in dandi kalah, especially sikh youths aboard..there are all hard core sipahis because its cool to them..people need to wake up and realize this is real life sikhi which changes demon to saint, crow to param hans and this is not your dream fantasy world of super heroes ..!!

^^ totally agree.........Sant ji had a very tough and hard bhagti jeewan before coming out in the light as sipahi. Giani Thakur Singh ji (was very close to Sant ji) had thrown some light on Sant ji's jeewan in one of his interview, will try to find and post it here.

No one can become sipahi without being a sant (meaning saintly virtues)

Another thing we can see is Guru Nanak Sahib (akal purkh HIMSELF) started as a saint and ......the saintly aspect was fully incorporated by the time of Guru arjan Dev ji...and Guru HarGobind Singh Sahib ji then introduced the sipahi aspect and Guru Gobind Singh ji brought the sipahi aspect in it's full sense and then combining the both........this sequence shows the saintly virtues coming first to make souls pure or "khaalas" and then they got the shakti of being a sipahi.....(turning into khaalsa)

All shaheeds like Baba Deep singh ji etc had immense bhagti before they came out as sipahis........

Coming into Politics......one would have saintly virtues and then become sipahi.....but then his bachans will become true sute-sidh........and they have to think twice before uttering anything,,,,,,coz their bachans won't go empty.....and in this profession they have to talk a lot....

You need courage and intelligence as well as spiritual strength to become a politician and a leader and not everyone

has those qualities.

So if it does go hand in hand, how come whenever we meet sikhs including me these days- we only see sipahi aspect..?
