Just wondering do we have any in-depth sources on the everyday life of Akali Poohla Singh Ji Shahid. We always hear his generalised exploits but never gain a perception of his character. Any sources from the period etc??? Plus what were his views on the European generals who served alongside him???

Akali Phoola Singh (if I ever had a favorite) would definitely be my favorite Sikh in history. His Anakh, Chardikala and skill as a warrior is unmatched.

Akali Phoola Singh Ji's statement to Maharaja Ranjit Singh for appointing the Dogras and a lala appointing relatives into the court:

‘‘By appointing
people of other religion in Khalsa Raj, you are violating
the policy. This is harmful to the kingdom. Kalgidhar
Patishah has appointed you to be the caretaker of
Khalsa Panth. If you do not mend your policies
consider this meeting as a farewell visit.’’

All this politically correct banter going on today is abused by people to take advantage of us. When will we wake up?

Were these vocal disparities ever heeded by the maharajah???? What about after Baba Ji's shaheedi, did his successor enjoy a close relationship with the monarchs of the Lahore durbar? And now heres the main one, whatever happened to the Tarna Dal in all this. We always hear of Budha Dal due to it's parallel capacity as heirs of Akal Takhat Jathedari and Shahidan misl; why not about the role of Tarna Dal during this period and it's five sub-battalions???? Actually I will start another thread on this.

Idk how accurate this is: http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.ca/2013/02/maharaja-ranjit-singh-rise-and-fall-of.html

But, Ranjit Singh was a drunk who died of a stroke related to kidney failure because he 'drank a wine too strong for any european' that had crush pearls in it that clogged his kidneys.

I know he did alot of the panth, but Idk the man drank everyday.

Didn't nihangs used to fling horse dung at him for his stupid decisions?

Btw, by policy does baba ji mean 52 bachaans some have called them fake, but Idk.
