wjkk wjkf!

one day on amritvela i was doing japji sahib and this happened. my feet started to numb and i could feel this wave of numbness progressing

through my body and it came to my head. i couldn't feel my body and it was like i was sitting in my head, is that dhyan or is it something else?

yesterday too i experienced it, it is like ur concentration comes at the back of ur eyes. once that happens my heart gets a quick jolt of energy and

it paces for a while and my breathing gets quick (i guess its because i get nervous).

now the problem

can any abhyasi gursikh tell that how should i calm myself? i can't control my breathing and its difficult to speak waheguru. how do you get past

this stage and what is this actually?

please do reply

your daas

U went into samadhi- a deep meditative state- God is in 24/7 samadhi. In this state, ur mind is shutting up so that eventually can just Feel within our being. It's when our minds start to shut up that we can begin to understand the reality of the world around us. Keep going, if u are experiencing samadhi, u are doing something right- practice Truth during the day aswell- the first lesson u need to learn is to speak the Truth always-Not even to tell a white lie.

God Bless You

God hears u every single time u speak to him, no matter how quietly. To calm yourslef-relax your muscles and listen to anhad naad, the symbolic reflection of the Silence that is Truth-the silence is our True origin. Anhad naad is the ringing sound-it is the primal sound.

Dont worry about what stage ur at for this path is Truly endless, just stay pure by always living by the laws of Nirboah and Nirvair-all is Him, so Love Him and fear nothing for there is Nothing to fear when he is All.

Live Gurbani throughout your life, remember that Bani is Guri and Guru is Bani. Satnaam

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsaa
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

This path, on which we all are on, has many many different and beautiful experiences. We do abheyaas not only to remember him, but to connect with him. This path is very long and as you know we progress through stages. Maharaj ji says eventually calling out Guru Guru, we become like him. But that, is obviously a higher awastha.

First is rehet, then comes abheyaas. Abheyaas is when we can progress on this path in connecting with him. In the very beginning it is hard to control our minds, but with Guru ji's Kirpa it is possible. Then, when our mind quites the worldlly thoughts, the voice of our soul is heard. Maharaj ji says only when the mind is silenced, the voice of our soul (soul, which is already Guru roop and wants to experience Waheguru) is heard. With Guru ji's Kirpa, we are able to forget our bodies when we are connecting with him. It is the soul which connects with him, and when it does connects, no thought of worldly things(including body) is there.

The reason why you breath quickly is because you are nervous. Many people experience this in the beginning. When you start to get nervous, remind yourself to let your soul go wherever it wants (to Waheguru). Nothing will happen to you, you are save in Guru ji's hands. Guru Sahib ji says if you want to play the game of love, step on this path with your head in your hand (don't try to use your common sense or opinon - give your head to Guru ji instead).

And there is no need to stop simran and try to observe it. If you do this, obviously your dheyan on simran would stop. If Guru Sahib ji wants you to sit back and see something, he will himself make you see. Just continue to do simran and let go of worry of what is happening to u

Keep on doing abheyaas, and ardaas.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Continue with your simran and practice Truth throughout your life- samadhi is a great blessing- if u were not doing anything right, nothing would occur. God bless you.

It's Kundalini, u were having an experience where shakti from the of your spine rises. Keep at your meditation, be still and don't let your body <banned word filter activated> around. U will feel a sensation in your throat and third eye eventually and it will go over your head.

This could take an hour or 10 yrs so be patient and let it happen as God wills it.

The core of Sikhi is Nirboah and Nirvair-recognising Him in each action and everything and loving Him in each. accepting Hukam is the key to Truth-when u relax and in Sehaj accept all as Hukam, bavin a calm and collective nature, u begin to realise the Truth of the world around us.

Do samadhi at 12:30am/1am for at least 2 and a half hours and apply what u have learned in your meditation and do bandgi(killing mind/5thieves, good deeds, no lying or doing or listening to slander etc) during the day and u will keep on learning. Stay grounded in Truth.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
