Let me start by saying his name is Jagraj Singh and not Jagraj. To those that are criticising I suggest you view all the videos and take the positives. Even I don't agree with all the views but am happy to set aside differences and look at the greater good of what bhaji has started. This project if you like is a labour of love, he has given up a successful career and performs this parchar out of love for Sikhi. Sikh leaders should be paying for his work but instead in this era of kaljug Jagraj Singh is relying on donations!

If we don't support up and coming naujwan parcharaks like this for their selfless service we need to question and ask ourselves what contribution have we made since following Sikhi apart from at best sitting on back benches?

If you feel bhaji can improve or have public speaking experience I suggest you get in touch through the site and let be known your recommendations.

basics of sikhi is awesome - so many people i meet especially youngsters they have learnt so much and have started coming gurdwara and asking for english katha

whenever i meet people and they ask questions about sikhi - i just say just youtube "basics of Sikhi" - and they all love it

that singh has done a wicked seva man - we need more professional preachers like him and no one will touch our youth !

he is doing a lot of good for the sangat, and he's got a lot of support from the sangat aswell

and he loves sikhi man ! that's one i thing i definatly know about him - put all that talking aside, hes a just a young Singh like the rest of us trying to do something good.

wether you think its needed or not just let them carry on - you dont see people arguing that the extra sabji for the langar is unneeded

It is essential we do Parchar. We get countless emails on kids converting to other religions, kids cannot follow what is said at Gurdwaras, the rise of cults etc. This can only be countered by Parchar. As stated before look at the Guru's for inspiration they travelled and met people in India and many other countries spreading the message of Sikhi. They were great missionaries for Sikhi and got other Sikhs including women to do the same.

VJKKVJKF, a friend made me aware of this discussion as I'm away in Canada. Thanks ji for all the kind words in support. We started street parchar as a "Lets just try it and see". tbh, we have much better conversations when the camera is not on and also when its not in someones face. So our filming technique needs work. Less than half of people agree to be filmed so the sangat on youtube only get to see a portion of what we do in street parchar. Some of the best conversations are not on the camera but its those conversations that keep us motivated to keep going. The purpose of the videos is to show people how to use the leaflet and so they can just get out there and start talking. The average street parchar desk doesn't need to film the conversations. "BasicsofSikhi" is not about me, its about SIkhi and spreading Guru's wisdom. We are going to be a team of three soon and hopefully more. Our philosophy is to enable other people to use the videos to spread Sikhi ie "Arm yourself with knowledge". Sangat can download the leaflets and documents, print them professionally and distribute, using the videos as an example. We are making even more leaflets and parchar material for parchar desks at cities, universities and gurdwaras.

Yes of course some people are busy and some are uncomfortable in front of a camera, but one thing is true, no one has yet to tell us that they didn't like hearing about Gurus message! Most people actually thank us and are glad to learn more (those that stop). I'd like to state that its not easy doing street parchar, most people dont stop, most pople think we are actually muslims, most people are busy or just rude and not one person who has come on a street parchar day has come away thinking "well that was easy". Its actually a long way out of our comfort zones. I'd incredibly grateful to all the people who have helped so far and challenged themselves in this way. Guru kirpa kare on those sevadaars.

Its a funny thing that our punjabi youth love watching street parchar videos and learn a lot about Sikhi from them, but its hard to get them to watch japji sahib katha. Well, its kaljug after all, but Guru kirpa a few people have watched other videos from the channel about gurbani after watching the street parchar. Now we've done a lot of videos 'by the script' we're going to start going 'off the script' so that people can see the easy and also some other ways of talking about Sikhi. The leaflet and videos are just a tool that make street parchar a little less daunting. Many people have stated they feel Street Parchar is needed and essential and I agree with that. I'd encourage anyone to at least try it and see the magic that can happen. I do feel that Guruji spread out to spead Sikhi and us western born Sikhs have now forgotten that idea. Guru kirpa kare we jap naam and encourage others to jap naam. Just a few days ago in Toronto, a muslim who spoke to us for a while was very surprised that we told him to remain Muslim and chant the 99 names of Allah on a tasbih. He genuinely was amazed! You doing a great job bro I'm hearing more Western educated Sikhs are looking to create video's based on your model of parchar so you are an inspiration,

Just a few techniques you might want to use in your video's is wearing different clothes and coloured banas when you doing katha's because visually then the video's look different and not all the same. Also try and get someone who is good at making video's with subtitles so that those Sikhs and non-sikhs who are hard of hearing can read along whats being said in the video.

Also if you look at the Islamic propaganda video's they love to use flashy filmy effects in their video's and love to use "fear allah" to get the youth to conform so any gurbani that gives harsh reactions from waheguru to wrong actions / sins of people would be a good way to make people stop and think of the bad non-sikh lifestyle they maybe currently living as most Sikh youths who are sahejdhari seem to think all sins and all actions are jiyaz and there is no need to be religious.....
