You know few years ago there was a YouTube channel run by this anti-Khalistani Punjabi Hindu fellow. He made some really obscene videos insulting Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale and all the Shaheeds who sacrificed themselves for Khalistan. For weeks and months he kept uploading those videos and several Punjabi Sikhs would comment under his videos using the filthiest language. Then a few Singhs contacted this guy via his YouTube ID, and urged him to in fact listen to Sant Jee's speeches, read the English translations, and watch the videos as well. I clearly remember, a few weeks later the dude took down all those videos, posted a public apology stating he had no idea what Sant Jee stood for, and ultimately closed down his channel. That incident left me wondering and amazed, and I do think that if we reach out to people in that sort of manner, we can make a difference. That is all I look forward to achieving. Sant Jee never praised Hinduism or Islam, never advocated any manmat, never sugarcoated the pristine and firm ideals of Gurmat. Yet this Hindu who hated Sikhs was so shaken up that he apologized and vanished. Vaheguru knows who those blessed Singhs were who contacted this guy, Vaheguru know what they said to him and in what manner. May Vaheguru give us (starting with me) that sort of sojhi sumat that we can explain to non-Sikhs the hollowness of their rituals and by Guru Sahib's kirpa they turn to Sikhi. It worked for that guy, it can work for several others. Question is, are we up for it?

Of course Veerji. And I think you know that I stand closer to SikhKosh Veer overall when it comes to exposing the truth about non-Sikh ideologies which harm innocent victims.

But when it comes to Hindu's in particular, I agree with Bijla Singh and yourself that maybe we need to step off the gas a bit in criticism if potential new Sikhs are lost.

You are not perfect but you are lot better than me and a part of that is because you are from the original background you were prior to 2003 and becoming part of the Khalsa Panth.

I don't think anyone on here has any personal grudges against each other (lol, or I hope so). We just vary in our outlook and approach, and that is alright. Its very natural for 2 people to be having the same goal, yet totally different attitudes and approaches in life. Doesn't make them enemies, lol.

That only works sometimes alot of people have tried with Abu Abeeda he refuses to remove his views but it seems Abu and his friends need to be taken on with the truth, because the truth will set you free WHAEGURU JI.......

Brilliant anecdote Mehtab Singh Ji. In terms of if we are up for it as a Qaum overall. The answer is clearly NO whilst we have our vakhre Gurdware, abortion clinics doing a roaring trade, Badal running the education system so badly that many of our youth coming up are still illiterate and drugs and alcohol consumption so big in Punjab.

We can only encourage more to turn towards Sikhi if our Qaum cleans up its act on a collective basis and we all play our part in this modern Dharam Yudh with Unity.

Once we cover the basics and live good lives according to Gurmat ourselves then others will turn to Sikhi more when they see the love and nimrata of true Gursikhs.

Mehtab Veer you hit the nail on the head with this too. If we can appreciate that different sampardas and groups within the Panth have the same goal but different viewpoints on how to get there, then that will kill half the arguments that lead to factionalism within the Panth. I think all of us on this thread are in unity overall.

Thanks for the respect, but there is no cat after any mouse on here, nor is any cat or mouse attacking each other. Singhs disagreeing or agreeing to disagree with each other is nothing new, its part of the discussion process. Don't understand why you don't see it that way. If you really want to respond to my post, why don't you respond about how many non-Sikhs have you convinced in real life about the superiority of Gurmat over other faiths? Have you?

I know where you stand on this issue. And about your question. I actually was asked by a professional once to do a lot more than just randomly teach non-Sikhs. In the immediate environment I did, but refused any further sessions. There is a lot which you don't know about me.

Your mocking of others shows you are self righteous and ignorant. The mocking is a self defense mechanism that many other users use as well, who can be classified as urban Sikhs that choose to sit in 3 hour lectures and read second hand material that tells them what other religious scriptures are about and then say we have Phd in the study of religion, but really never pick up a religious scripture.

Your mocking of others shows you are self righteous and ignorant. The mocking is a self defense mechanism that many other users use as well, who can be classified as urban Sikhs that choose to sit in 3 hour lectures and read second hand material that tells them what other religious scriptures are about and then say we have Phd in the study of religion, but really never pick up a religious scripture.

If someone calling you self-realized feels mockery to you, then that just means you're insecure and would presume every comment as an insult. Doesn't really mean the other person is self-righteous or ignorant. Once in a while someone can in fact appreciate

Sir I've lived among 3 religions in a manner you cannot in your lifetime , so spare me that suggestion please. But thanks anyways. Worth a shot anyday I must say.

There is no need to throw insults at each other, especially when it comes to discussing other religions. If we are not on the same page, doesn't mean we throw mud at each other. As others have posted, being Sikhs it is our right to stand up for what is right and vouch for the truth. If the truth in Gurbani seems bitter to some, that is not our fault. If the ugly truth about their beliefs shows them the mirror and they panic, that is also not our mistake. However, as Mehtab Singh said, it is not a bad idea to approach genuine seekers with compassion, but at the same time stay alert about miscreants who have harmful motives.

Please refrain from any further personal attacks. We have had valuable opinions so far and would want more thoughts.
