It doesn't matter if it's halal or not, having an abattoir or slaughterhouse next to a gurdwara is not good.

Infact, even if it's within a mile or so or en route to the main roads, then that too is bad because-

Of the NOISE from the cries and screams of animals that can be heard from the trucks and lorries as they are transported into the slaughterhouse.

You ask any truck driver who has done these runs and they will tell you that the whole journey goes quite well and quiet until they get to about a mile and a half from the slaughterhouse.

Then the animals somehow SENSE that their death is near and that they are about to take their last walk ever straight into the abattoir. These animals then get so anxious and start crying and screaming out in total fear as if they can SMELL their death.

If you have heard these screams coming from a passing lorry or one stood at the lights, then you will know that it would be the last thing you want hear when you are in the vicinity of a gurdwara.

Besides the minority bit sikhs aren't going to behead someone or blow something up apparently by spilling blood your voice is heard and the media calls your community a peaceful one primarily out of fear and in attempts of spreading propaganda that you are actually peaceful so that you act peaceful.

This halal process plant says they won't be storing beef but just mutton and chicken and it's going to be held at low temperatures so it won't smell, why don't they move to an industrial area or is this a free for all? If it is I think we need to do what americans are doing at the ground zero mosque by funding the opening of a gay muslim night club, next door. The ground zero mosque stuff is a horrible saga one man standing for it talks about how it will be good for cohesion, goes on tv talks about rights etc. But then publishes a book in arabic calling for a mosque to remark the site of the holy ones jihad on infidel land, the book was translated and when the guy was asked he says it's out of context and mistranslated.

Sometimes, this is the only way such people understand.

I don't think it is a slaughtering house, it's going to be a processing plant i'm guessing they will do packaging. The smell won't be that bad if they follow proper health procedures so keeping it stored, wearing regulation clothing. Cleaning the place and so on. There are all sorts of meat establishments near alot of gurdwaras already. The lorries might cause noise but they are pretty much everywhere these days, perhaps they could claim compensation to have the gurdwara install double glazing to reduce the noise pollution.

What can you do bradford has turned into pakistan literally there is a high concentration population of pakistani muslims in that particular area. Doubt the local mps care about appeasing sikhs.

The message calling for respect for places of worship heard and understood by 3 from 6, but the questionable chair for the planning panel ignored sound advice in approving the application.

Now awaiting for a written notice before considering an appeal. We will need further effort should we decide to overturn.
