Are Sikhs Descendant Of Hindu God Ramchander ?

Recommended Posts

Mere Veer/Bahan Taran he might be holy by your standards but Gurbani says otherwise - I will take Bhagat Namdev and Guru Nanak's take over your and GPS's personal opinions

Bhagat Namdev -

Pande tumra Ramchand So Bhi Avat Dekhya Tha |

Ravan Seti Sarvar hoyi Ghar ki Pat gavayi thi ||

(p 874)

Guru Nanak -

Dehdis Andhle Mund Kataya Raavan Mar Kya Bada Bhaya ||

Also I think Ram's act of kicking out his innocent wife - just to placate his subjects was a despicable one , he set a very bad precedent for how women should be treated if they are abducted.

Also Lachman cut off Saroopnakha's nose just because she wanted to have a realtionship with him , Isn't it understandable on Ravan's part to seek revenge as her brother ?

Why did only Sita had to go through Agni Parkisha ?

Also Gurbani is not universally critical to hindy mythological figures - Dhurv and Prahlad are extolled throughout , while Shiva, Krishna and Rama are not .

Panthic unity

Let us not beat about bush here.Let me ask you a question.

You are a sikh. Are you a descendant of king ram chander. I guess you are not.

Then why this crooked title of the thread"

"Are Sikhs Descendant Of Hindu God Ramchander"

Have you seen a Dasam Granth sahib.It is hundred times more critical about these figures than SGGS ji.

Taran has posted those verses and you conveniently ignore those and hop to your propaganda agenda.

Now let us suppose you are a Gill sub caste. Do you become descendant of KPS Gill or his dad.

Think before you start such nonsense topics.

Well done GPS paji i have been watching the videos from the seminar and it was great to see such an uprala

ignorance is the disease and unfortunately many innocent young people have been misinformed about dasam granth and as you know DOUBT is kalyugs biggest weapon

But instead of having the desired effect actually the "nindak movement" has had the opposite effect more and more Sikhs are trying to read and understand Dasam Granth Sahbi Ji

if you want to KNOW what Guru Gobind Singh jis own views were then read Dasam Granth just one section of Teti Swaiye smashes the whole brahmanvaad accusation

Someone has tied the stone-idol around his neck and someone has accepted Shiva as the Lord; someone considers the Lord within the temple or the mosque;

Someone calls him Ram or Krishna and someone believes in His incarnations, but my mind has forsaken all useless actions and has accepted only the One Creator.12.

If we consider Ram, the Lord as Unborn, then how did he take birth from the womb of Kaushalya ? He, who is said to be the KAL (destroyer) of KAL (death), then why did none become subjugated himself before KAL?

If he is called the Truth-incarnate, beyond enmity and opposition, then why did he become the charioteer of Arjuna ? O mind ! you only consider him the Lord God, whose Mysetry could not be known to anyone.13.

Krishna himself is considered the treasure of Grace, then why did the hunter shoot his arrow at him ? He has been described as redeeming the clans of others then he caused the destruction of his own clan;

He is said to be unborn and beginningless, then how did he come into the womb of Devaki ? He , who is considered without any father or mother, then why did he cause Vasudev to be called his father?14.

Why do you consider Shiva or Brahma as the Lord ? There is none amongst Ram, Krishna and Vishnu, who may be considered as the Lord of the Universe by you;

Relinquishing the One Lord, you remember many gods and goddesses; in this way you prove Shukdev, Prashar etc. as liars; all the so-called religions are hollow; I only accept the One Lord as the Providence.15.

Someone tells Brahma as the Lord-God and someone tells the same thing about Shiva; someone considers Vishnu as the hero of the universe and says that only on remembering him, all the sins will be destroyed;

O fool ! think about it a thousand times, all of them will leave you at the time of death, therefore, you should only meditate on Him, who is there in the present and who will also be there in future.16.

(Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Teti Swaiye - Dasam Granth)

Since we consider Guru Gobind singh as our father and he descended from sodhis who in turn descended from Luv / Kush (not exactly sure which one ) , we are all descendants of Ram Chander ?

Our ancestors do not decide our present identity etc. But on that note the Suraj Vansiya Khalsa Panth states that the son of a Sikh is not a Sikh until he confirms to the tenets of the Khalsa himself. When he begins to do so his ancestry changes to that of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, so yes the Khalsa is descended from Ram Chandra.

K never heard of this before or learned about these claims

That sikh gurus have lineage to hindu gods

I thought sikhi rejected hinduism with having millions of gods and believed in one god

How does lineage equal belief?

The javaans of the Sikh regiment were clearly told that the time for Shaheedi has arrived. Not a single one stepped back. They tied anti tank mines on their stomachs and ran towards the US made Patton tanks which the Pak army had. These Singhs had themselves blown into pieces and also shred those tanks to bits, thus causing the Pakis to retreat.

Would love to find out more about this battle.

Whether we as people have leneage back to the Devta ramchand makes no difference if we become khalsa, under the sikh principles set by the 10 gurus. We as humans see the devte as gods however we should really see them as extraterrestrial beings reproducing with humans, then we can see them in the light of which they really are, imperfect as Akal Purakh is the only entity which is fully perfect. Devte/devias are imperfect as they too have to struggle and fight the 5 vices however they are of a higher knowledge and technology and general than us humans.

No need for racist derogatory slurs. Its Pakistani. Not P*kis.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
