Guru Pyaari Sadh Sangat Jio...Vaheguru Ji Ke Khalsa! Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh!

After having many deep conversations with other Amritdhari's and non-Amritdhari's dass is intrigued to know how fellow Amritdhari Singh's and Singhnia do Vaheguru Jaap/Simran.

Each person's journey and connection differs as well as their preferences, so it would be nice to hear and share these.

Svaas svaas Simran is something we all try to do (well we should - even if it means we have to keep reminding ourselves) but what techniques and how do you do meditation when you take time out to do it properly?

What method/technique is used?

What do you think about?

How do you sit?

What do you wear?

Do you sing, speak or remain silent?

What tune or speed do you recite to?

How do you feel before, during and after?

These are basic questions but I think it will help Sangat that maybe don't have Naam or don't know how to go about it.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji.

I would like to share what I do when I do my simran.

Jap Ji Sahib tells us that we must: Listen, Accept and then Love. So each time I say Waheguru I listen to my own voice. You can practice your concentration by saying Waheguru faintly and still trying to hear your own voice. I just think about the word Waheguru. Then through repetition, your simran automatically becomes Saas Saas simran whereby you say Wahe on inhale and Guru on exhale. If you are doing it correctly then you will taste sweetness. This is the same taste as when you take Amrit from Kande di Pahul.

Start off slow, it is not a race. Waheguru Ji is inside you. I think the best time to do simran is before Amrit Vela Nitnem.

But you must also remember that you need to take Khande di Pahul, which means that you accept Guru Granth Sahib Ji as your Guru and then Guru Ji will give you the Gurmantar.

Hope this helps, Bhul Chuk Maaf.
