Fateh . . .

There has been an influx of main stream panjabi movies in the recent months. Some major names being Jaat Airways, Jaat Boys, Jat and Juliet, etc. etc. etc.

As much as I refrain from cinema but still being in media have been caught up by these.

My concern by skimming through some of these movies.
Families protraried in these are Sikh Families: However if you just notice being a SIkh there is hardly a single person who portrays as a Sikh. The scenes shown going to gurudwara shows the Guru Khar being deserted apart from the Gurudwara Staff (Giani, sewadars) being there.

This is ridiculous. This is what is being shown. Has panjab really changed this much. Are we really becoming lost in this hype?
Sensible comments pls...

Lack of kesDari actors or shortej of stik on beards is 2blame.

Lol, those fake beards are hilarious.

I rate someone like Farhan Akhtar who grew his own hair and beard for bhag milkha bhag.

Even bloody Bollywood films have dastar wearing leading heroes. Look at films like Border, Gaddar, Rocket Singh, Love Aj Kal, Heroes, Singh Is king, Son Of Sardar. I know the last two examples are a bit of a joke but still there are more Bollywood films with main sardar heroes than Punjabi films.

That is a joke!

Well at least Diljit is getting quite popular. He is pretty much the only young sardar in Punjabi music and films.

Yes but he is fine as he was born in a Sikh family and was raised all his life as a Sikh. He will be a better role model than most non-Sikh actors who sport a beard for a few days, have someone tie a turban for them and then give it all up once the shot is "okay'ed". We obviously can't have Ajay Devgan or Akshay Kumar as role models, after all they are Hindus and that is why can't be role models.
