Sanghat tuhadi help chayi di aa

Has anyone here been to Pakistan? Specially Pakistani Punjab? How are things there? If you want to visit Nankana sahib, is it easy? Where do you stay, eat etc? How is Pakistani Punjab in terms of transportation, economy, markets etc? Is it developed like our Punjab? Better ? Worse?

If anyone of you has had this experience of travelling to Pakistan..Please share! Share anything you like.

If you haven't personally been there, has any of your friend, uncle ji, relative etc been there? What have you heard from them? Please share all of your insights, thoughts etc...

Yes I have but it was long time back.

If you want to travel from India then get in touch with your local Gurdwara Committee or the one at Five Takhats.

They provide application forms and collect passports with a small visa fee, same is forwarded to Pakistan Embassy for approval.

The Pilgrim visa is issued on 4 or 5 occasions a year only to Sikhs.

Best time to travel is on Prakash purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji.

As for expenses you have to buy your own tickets from Amritsar Train Station.

Food & lodging is provided at all Gurdwaras in Pakistan for free.

Khalsa Ji,

Some family members went to Pakistan, last year, on the Gurprab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj; the best experience of their life, they claimed. They went with a yatra organiser; there were hundreds of sangat from Britain, all travelling together. The security forces, in Pakistan, provided unprecedented security 24/7. There is yatra niwas available; some organisers include nearby hotel accommodation.

I would say, that it is better to go through, one of the yatra organisers. My family members went with Gurbax Singh, Of Leamington Spa, England. There are other organisers; details can be obtained via Sikhchannel tv...

Waheguru....

personally I would prefer to go to Nankana Sahib without the yatra group, as their are so many things to see there, but the yatra is organised to "matha tek" and move on.

the time needed to reflect and ponder, that indeed we are at the place of the Great Guru, cannot be squeezed in between running for coaches.
