Right now, a mere 100,000 American Troops are literally dominating Afghanistan - nation of 25 million.

Americans can't even protect Kabul, let alone "dominate" kabul, and let alone "dominating" entire Afghanistan....

100,000 troops are too less to dominate a country like Afghanistan....

As of now, American defeat is glaring in Afghan-war.

Hundreds of billions spend, thousands of allied casualities, majority of Afghanistan still under Taliban control, Taliban continously attacking Kabul, American forces and son, Karzai government fragile, instead of curbing down terrorist threat...terrorist threat spread all over the world with Al Qaeda and affiliates hitting London, Moscow, Madrid, Syria, Yemen, Mali, Pakistan and so on....

As America withdraws, Talibans' triumph over Karzai look apparent....

Let me put in my 2 cents..

In Pakistan, "Sikh and Hindu" are often used inter-convertably...For example, I was told that our anscestors were "Sikhs and Hindus" ..Now, no one exactly know that who was the first man in our ancestory to have converted to Islam..but since they were from Punjab...they were "Sikhs and Hindus"...In other words, they were non-Muslims and became Muslims. Punjab had Hindus and Sikhs...so obviously we are from them (Sikhs and Hindus)...

I am sure the guy who the OP talks about has the same idea..he won't know exactly who is ancestor (who first converted to Islam) exactly was...but he was amongst "Sikhs and Hindus"...

You do know that the Khalsa is only a little more than 300 years old, and Sikhs in some form been there for a little more than 500 years old. Most people converted to Sikhs as we know it probably in the last 200 years. So it doesn't make any sense for Sikhs to convert to Islam, however, there are probably lot of muslims who converted to Sikhism. My two cents!

I've never met a Pakistani Punjabi who thinks Sikhs and Hindus are the same. The three communities have been living with each other for centuries and know the difference between the two. Sikhs are monotheistic, Hindus are not. Sikhs have turbans and beards, Hindus do not.

He would have to be a Hindu as Islam arrived in India much before Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Patshah Jee Maharaj. Sikhs converting to Islam back in those days is something exactly opposite to what even Islamic historians have written. Even they have recorded that Sikhs prefer to die than abandon their faith.

I agree though, most probably a Hindu...but we don't know when that conversion happened...

Here is something I would like to share.

I remember having heard from my father ( My father is no more ) a long time back that:

A big number of wealthy influential and common Sikhs in the region of present Pakistan had indeed converted to Islam in big numbers. And the main reason being the internal quarrels and infightings.

btw: Try to find out who were the ancestors of Bollywood actor Sharukh Khan !!! It wont be a surprise if they too were Sikhs. Indeed, I did hear this too. Not sure 100% !

It was in fact the islamic colonialism of india which inunciated this EXTREME us and them mentality.
