With their eyes firmly on the upcoming polls, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) constituted a cell for the Sikh community on Monday to focus on the issues they face.

A five-member body was elected to represent the community.

"The Sikh community has played a very important role in the country's development. Unfortunately the community has been treated as votebanks. None of the members who lost their family in the 1984 riots are getting justice," said AAP leader, Arvind Kejriwal.

Parminder Singh Veerji who will head the unit said, "The Sikh community of Delhi is with AAP in its fight against corruption. We will work on all ways to reach out to other community members so AAP wins the polls."
