"The Namdhari sect has long been maintaining its own lineage of Satgurus, needless to say, Namdharis don't consider Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj as their Guru because they allege the Gurgaddi was handed over to Balak Singh by Guru Gobind Singh Sahib mysteriously appearing before him in the year 1812 (I wonder how!).

* ਰਹਿਤਨਾਮਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ੧੨ਵੀਂ (Rehatnama of Patshahi the 12th!!!!)

Doesn't such an outrageous attack on Sikh philosophy call for an intervention from the Akal Takht authorities?"

Amritsar, Punjab (October 03, 2013): According to a news published in a Punjab vernacular “Daily Pehredar” the Namdhari sect followers distributed clothes, along with “Namdhari Nitnem” gutkas among Raagis and Granthis of Sri Harmandar Sahib, Amritsar.

It is learnt that the “EkOankar – Satguru Ram Singh Ji Sahai” and “Namdhari Nitnem” is written on the front title of the gutkas distributed by the Namdhari followers.

According to Daily Pehredar so-called “Namdhari Nitnem” carries “Hawan Vidhi” (procedure of Hawan) and so-called “Rehatnama of Patshahi 12”.

According to Daily Pehredar (DP) the distribution of cloths and Namdhari Nitnem was in the knowledge of Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh; however, the DP notes that Giani Gurbachan Singh tried to escape the issue that he had allowed the persons to distribute the cloths because they were of his native place.


It is learnt that the Granthis and Ragis who has received Namdhari stuff returned it in order to avoid any controversy."

What gives people mixed opinions, is when we have such amazing Keertan like the following, Bhai Baljeet Singh Bhai Gurmeet Singh namdhari...

if only people like them could come 100% into Gurmat and leave behind the manmat things that the namdhari cult has attached itself to.

I don't know if constantly criticizing Namdharis is the best choice....when I watch/listen to videos like the ones above, it gives me some type of compassion/hope for them, because the potential is obviously there in them.

Bhai Tejinder Singh Shimla Valey and Bhai Davinder Singh Khanne/Sohana Valey really have set a beautiful tone by having them come and join with the rest of Sikh Panth and do Keertan.

However, we must also be aware that not all Namdharis have this mentality, etc...and we can never accept them manipulating Ik Oankaar and also having any Guru beyond Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

It really is a balancing act of being protective, but not so overly protective that we destroy the chance of Namdharis coming fully into Gurmat.

No wonder he lost and did not receive any support from them and did not win a single seat (and even losing his own). He portrayed himself as a secularist distancing himself from anything Sikhi related. It's almost like he was ashamed to campaign on the Sikh platform.

I attended his rally here in Cali and he was great from what I saw, but he showed himself as being like JFK or Obama and did also hint at Sikhi too in his speech but I guess his true colors came out.

He carried a very pro Punjab agenda. But he forgot one very important thing. The pro Sikh agenda is intertwined with pro Punjab agenda. They are two inseparable agendas. Muslims in Pakistan and Hindus in India have shown they have no real love for Punjab, Punjabi language or Punjabiat. But Sikhs have repeatedly shown that they are the loyal sons of Punjab unlike their Hindu and Muslim siblings. They are ever ready to defend and even give Shaheedi for the honour of Punjab. Manpreet should have done what Tohra did when he opposed Badal. Tohra formed an alliance with all the Panthic Jathabandis and that was the only real challenge Badal ever faced, so much so that Badal lost the elections and Capt Amerinder Singh's congress won because of Tohra's united front.

Manpreet should have done the same thing. He should have extended a hand of friendship towards all the Sikh Jathabandis, Panthic groups and brought them under one umbrella. Even if he did not win, but he would have managed to win some seats for sure.
