'principal Gurbachan' The Controversial Missionary Is Booked At Park Av

Recommended Posts

There are two Gurudwaras in Victoria, BC.One is very old dating to early 1950s. Gurbachan Thailand was brought

there by a very few missionary elements. This crook did katha for two days.management committee had some rehatvan

Gursikhs.Though he talks cleverly but they judged his credentials. They asked him to leave.

This man is shameless also.He asked if he could stay one day more as he was to make alternate programme to spread

blasphemy elsewhere.Committee told him he could stay for a day more but will not be given stage.

Shastar paji you are 100% right to state we should always debate in the right manner. After all everything in this world is open to debate and we are all allowed to have our own opinions, but bhai sahib surely when it comes to the doubting and belittling of Our beloved Gurus Gurbani (be it any Granth Sahib, Pothi Sahib or even Gutka Sahibs)there can never be any diplomatic debate, there can only be Acceptance. These are not writings in text books by mere mortals that we can cut and paste at our leisure; these Shabads are GOD themselves - Pothi Parmesar Ka Thaan.

Paaj there are many of us who believe in Guru Granth Sahib ji and Dasam Granth ji Bani too.

Yet painfully we are finding folk belittle it. The same bani you would recite every morning. As time is going by, access to internet, it appears the gulf is deeper.

In my childhood days late 80s/ 90s we would not have contemplated our own folk would turn on half of their heritage.. But now its surfacing, i ask myself how do we deal with it in fragmented communities scattered across the globe??

The unity is no longer there, groups, sects, and whats left of families is going further inwards.

Im not saying tolerate people, but challenge their points. Just 3 days ago i debated some Missionary from delhi, he was fixed on his goal, but when he saw me answering back and questioning him he refused to answer and left.

I myself used to doubt Dasam Granth 15 years ago. I cant even remember how or why. I became fixed, until one day My Friends Father sat me down and said son be open minded and research. Then one of my friends lent me Bhai Jodh Singh trans. I could not recall anything that was anti sikh.

Shaster ji

So it was 15 years back you did not believe in Dasam Bani. It was 1998. Kala afghana came on the scene after that.

It was he who started propaganda against Dasam bani. How come you started disbelieving Dasam Bani when it was

not an issue yet.

Had you read Dasam Granth before you started disbelieving in that?

I had a small circle of friends at the time who did not believe in dasam granth. I had an issue with what i felt was hindu mythology at the same time and developed a barrier. I was unwilling to learn, super content with what I had.

Did not live in our thriving SOuthalls surreys Tds to know what the big issue outside Diaspora was. Its only when i was asked by my friends father to become open minded and research after he passed away. Then i went onto Bhai Jodh Singhs trans.

Later I heard of Vids of Mahapurkh doing parchaar from Dasam Granth, i slowly started to wwarming up to it. beforre that i was even anti Rag Mala.

When Big Boss wants to break you, He can work in strange ways.

The times you are talking about was controversy free.I mean there was no controversy about Dasam granth.

Which year did you read Dr Jodh singh's translation.I may mention that his translation is not complete.

I had read Bhai Jodh Singhs trans probably around 2003ish off the top of my head. I understood i was reading an incomplete work of 2 volumes. yet i could not find anything i would disagree with. I did not actually get round to reading the remaining sections entirely. But the little i read up on I could not see what the fuss was?? Yet if anyone asks tell me about Charitrokpahakyan what can i say?? Life is there in front of your eyes yourself, whats left thats taboo?

Back to my friends father I had two groups i associated with a small circle of religious friends and my nearby punjabi crew..Uncle ji was part of the Local crew who was mainstream and did not belong to any group was trying to encourage insight on Dasam Granth ( he himself used to recite from Dasam Granth collections in addition to his daily Nitnem., Uncle ji wanted youth to discover themselves without forcing opinions). Their view simply was if you read it your eyes will open up..But they did it in such a way where they would not tell you something outright. They wanted you to go try it touch on the topic and see. They did that in general in life.

One of the lads that came around was going heavier into expressing love for Dasam Granth. Thats where My friends Father and I exchanged views. I had stated i was not pro. He had said it would be great to share knowledge with each other on all sides.

Dasam Granth then was not a Big issue. It was at the back. Some folk were aware of its existance others not. For some it was undiscovered, others it was a no no ( in the particulaar group i spent in) from which i later came out of.

I began learning theres a lot more to life than my own small world I had created in my head.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
