I have said that had they chosen a peaceful method of protest instead of assassination the genocide could have been avoided.

For me personally the genocide was shameful and a blot that cannot be argued away. The blame lies with the evil and violent people who perpetrated and planned the murders (from whatever ethnic or religious background).

You should not extend the blame to the rest of the population who were not involved or tried to protect and help the victims.

Two Sikhs who were previously very patriotic Indians were forced to take a drastic step by punishing Indira Gandhi because they knew no matter what they do, justice cannot be served to the Sikhs by going through the legal system. Proof of this is that the Sikhs have been waiting for almost 30 years, still no justice. Instead we see Hindus indirectly blaming Sikhs for the Sikh genocide by saying stuff like "if you didn't do this, we wouldn't have killed you" similar to how you see many Indians today blaming women in India for being raped because they dress a certain way. Let's say Mr. Bhindranwale and his party was a group of terrorists, what if such a group of terrorists belonging to whatever religion (leave apart Hindu terrorists) seized Vaishno Devi/Tirupathi/Jagannath Puri/Birla Mandir/BadriNath etc., would Hindu public accept demolishing Vaishno Devi/Tirupathi/Jagannath Puri/Birla Mandir/BadriNath etc. with bombs fired from military tanks (to be used in a battle against opposite country), bombs fired from helicopters (to be used in a battle against opposite country).

• Do you need to bomb shrines to flush out 100-200 terrorists (let's say even if those were terrorists)?

Letters written by Bhai Beant Singh Jee, Kehar Singh Jee from jails speak the truth, the 1984 November Genocide was a sequel to June 1984 genocide, was pre-planned and was about to happen irrespective of Indira's assasination, the only good thing is it's severity was brought down drastically by punishing the sinner. Bhai Beant Singh Jee and Bhai Satwant Singh Jee overheard all the conversation of Indira Gandhi planning to carry out a severe genocide of Sikhs throughout India and even Punjab by declaring faux-war with Pakistan, and Indian Hindu-military bombing Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana and most other densely populated areas of Sikhs, the same act to be done by civilian goons in other parts of the country, for which all the preparation such as arranging goons, petrol and other weaponary was already done.

It is to be noted that the planning of Nov. Genocide was already done, just it's execution date was brought forward by Rajiv Gandhi. People say that the assassination caused a genocide on the streets of India. No, it did not. This wasn't a spontaneous act. People just didn't have kerosene and spare rubber tyres under the kitchen sink. They didn't just randomly have voters lists which contain Sikh names.

Reports (Nanavanti Comission) said white powder was found that set people on fire immediately. The powder cannot be identified; it has come from some Government agency. This was a pre-planned attack against our nation. Regardless of whether Indra was killed or not, a time would've come where they would've set out to attack Sikhs. They could use any excuse.
