For years most of the Sikh organisations , Babas, Sants, Nihangs avoided any contact with the victims of the 1984 Genocide as it was politically damaging to them in their relations with the Indian Govt. The poor victims with most of their men folk murdered have had to fend for themselves and faced huge discrimination from the Indians around them. But when you seem them on TV many have kept their Kesh , more than those in the Punjab. The best way to counter conversions, is for all the Sikh organisations in Punjab to get out of their comfortable Deras and offices and go to Delhi and help. Have any of Badals gone to Delhi massacres areas and offered meaningful help? We do not expect the Congress , Communist or PPP to help.

Frankly most people have moved away from formal religion - even the poor don't really believe in medieval fairy tales. Sikhs that convert to Christianity do it for money, assistance, etc. So instead of Sikh their new label will become Christian. But remember Sikhs and Muslims are trying to convert Hindus all the time so why complain.

Religion should be about a personal spiritual search - if Sikhi provides that path then great.

However today it is only about membership of a group that can fight with other groups for its “interests”, “rights” and separate “ identity” using every non-religious method including violence. These groups compete for space and domination over each other. What has all that got to do with spirituality ?

They Christian missionaries are spreading their faith peacefully. Why do we complain? I personally do not like Christian missionaries, but they are not forcing their faith on anyone unlike Muslims who use intimidating methods. This is a challenge to us to keep strong and help these poor Sikhs before the Christian missionaries do. Sadly our Sikh Aid organisations are more interested in sending untold amounts of money all over the world in Lybia or Kosovo than help these poor Sikhs who are falling away from Sikhi.

If our leaders want to they can single handily convert many people to khalsa panth not by fear mongering but after showing uniquness of vahiguroo gurmantra which everyone can relate to it. One of nirmale vidvaans wrote 500 arths of vahiguroo gurmantra in response to challenge from snatan group, this has bought hindu scholary samaj at banares to its knee after nirmale did 500 arth of vahiguroo gurmantra which bought lot of hindus in sikhi fold

Similarly, harbhajan singh yogi bought many millions of western people into kundalini yoga (part of shabad surat aspect), as starting step then into full fledged sikhi with (bhagti, shabad surat and gyan aspects). Sant gurbachan singh bhindranwale along with sant attar singh ji mustaneywale did amrit sanchar for 23 hrs in south india, riskhikesh straight bought millions into sikhi fold.

We can learn a thing or two from puratan samparda and puratan mahapursh like sant attar singh ji mustaneywale, sant baba gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale and sant isher singh ji rara sahib. At this day and age, amount of bhandi parchar (exculsive) parchar we do is unbeleiveable that our own amritdhari sikhs including bibaya are going away from sikhi let alone converting others.

Our best converts are western people looking for spirituality, low caste hindus who are shunned by higher caste, typical raw yogi doing all kinds of silly things putting ashes in their body, followers tired of jain type of peaceful attitude of everything goes,, tibetan who beleive guru nanak was their lama, snatan mat spread out fragmented orders such as vaishanav, shaiv, kashmiri shaivism, yogi, shakti, and advait orders since they are all spread out divided into many factions always against each other in scholary debate since its not easy for followers belonging to those groups relate to it as they are unable see overall picture of many aspects blended beautifully in vahiguroo ji

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
