Avtar Singh Makkar chief asks Bahuguna to rebuild gurdwara at Haridwar

SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar has appealed to the Uttarakhand government to take immediate steps to rebuild Gurdwara Gyan Godri on the banks of the Ganga at Har ki Pauri in Haridwar.
The shrine, associated with Guru Nanak, was demolished in 1979 along with several other structures
along the banks of the Ganga when a massive centrally funded campaign for cleansing the sacred river was undertaken.

Makkar made this appeal during a meeting with Uttarakhand chief minister Vijay Bahuguna at Dehradun on Monday. Makkar led an SGPC delegation comprising senior vice-president Raghujit Singh Virk, general secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, executive member Rajinder Singh and two senior SGPC officials to the Uttarakhand capital.

A release issued from the SGPC headquarters here stated that the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and the CM listened to the views of the delegation. Later, Bahuguna assured Makkar that a decision would be taken very soon on rebuilding the shrine in view of its historical importance and the fact that it reminded pilgrims coming to Haridwar of Guru Nanak’s visit to the place.

The SGPC chief told the CM that while the government had rebuilt several demolished structures along the river at Haridwar, the gurdwara was yet to be constructed.

The Uttarakhand government had prevented a Sikh jatha from entering the state last month. The jatha was on its way to Haridwar for participating in the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak on November 28 at the spot where Gurdwara Gyan Godri once stood. Makkar and several other Sikh groups had condemned the state government’s action.

Makkar had then made it clear that the Sikh community was determined to reconstruct the historical gurdwara. He had also indicated that he would be meeting the Uttarakhand CM soon to discuss the issue.

So anti Sikh Badal, Saini, and Makkar ( who by the way support Dassam Granth like me) are asking like beggars to rebuild our gurdwara, great! Let's support these anti Sikh Badal and Makkar because they know how to beg from Hindus.

Stay on the topic. You have been straying from the topic and launching personal attacks in your earlier posts

also.

If you have love for these anti sikh Sarna and co who are opposing sikh ethos and struggle be it our scriptures or

memorial in memory of 1984 genocide , idolize them at home. Please do not spoil this thread.

So coming to the topic. First of all there was a misunderstanding that Gurudwara sahib was demolished

in 1984.That was wrong and rumour mongering. Spreading rumours never help the cause. Gurudawara

sahib was demolished in 1979 when centralGovt under Indira devised a scheme to clean Ganga river.

I was also of the view that it was demolished in 1984.

There stands a Govt. office there. Then there are local sikhs who are vulnerable in case any unpleasant

thing happens. SGPC is a central organization of sikhs and they did take this matter with appropriate

authority already. WE should see what they do.

It is noteworthy to know that Govt.in Uttarkhand is congress.Since Sarna has so got so good relations there,

daduwal ji should use his ties with Sarna to plead this case instead of misleading sikhs by futile marches.

Sikhs have a history IF THEY embark on struggle after ardas they do not back out.Either success or shaheedi.

And lastly hating any community whether hindus or muslims is not a sikh act.

It's not begging, its called working things out through legal process and framework. Missionaries type khalistanis abroad won't get it, they expect others to launch a war in India from abroad while they are sitting comfy on leather chairs at everyone else expense, throwing everyone else under the bus

Don't the high and mighty self righetous sikhs abroad present themselves helplessly infront of hindu indian custom border officials when they go to India at the airport? What happens to their anakh then? that can be considering form of begging too- presenting themselves helplessly infront of indian- hindu customer border officals to let them in the country.

The problem is they all talk big, expect others to do seva of all kinds yet they sit abroad milk the system both ways. They neither integrate nor they go back, they segregate themselves, do all kinds of silly things.

Apparently, you know about everybody. If you are a beggar, don't think everybody else is too. As a Sikh, I know how to get my rights, I don't need some hindu apologetic to tell me anything. Please keep on begging from Hindus, we have not got anything yet, but maybe you will. Let me know when you do.

N30singh has made very logical conclusion. Real fighers for a sikh state sacrificed their lives. Those who are left do not use derogatory language for other religions.

Then we have many fake ones out of India who make a living out of this. They have done nothing so far fruitful for the community. Then we have agents of Govt. out to

provoke sikhs and malign our institutions such as akal takhat.

Example is this thread on daduwal. When he visited Canada , singhs asked him why did he go to Sarna's convention in Delhi that was called to protest

excommunication of blasphemic Ragi darshan.he simply looked the other way.

In west it is not.In india there are different standards of morality.

Bhaji age difference in marriage does not come under any kind of morality.

If he enticed her or eloped with her, then there would be an issue, marrying a younger spouse with their, and their parents consent has no connection with eastern morality.
