How did Dhumma give sehjog to Gurbaksh Singh prior to just coming out of his shell? As Gurbaksh Singh states the Jathedhars will be held accountable for releasing the remainder of the Singhs in jail. By placing the onus on them and in front of the media is a master-stroke. By not keeping their promises will result in their downfall. Badal will be out no matter what the outcome and Gurbaksh Singh should stand as Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib or replace the kanjar Badal. If only the elections were around the corner they would win hands down.

For the first time British Comedians Russell Brand and Stephen Fry retweeted support for Bhai Gurbaksh Singh to millions of their followers. Sikh Media, Facebook, Twitter were a major support in spreading the word, even if the India media censored the news. The news of Indian human rights violations being discussed by non Sikhs was a major victory.

Communal speaker of Aam Adami party Shri Sanjay Singh and party sikhcell chief Paramjeet Singh Virji stated that their party supports the movement started by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh.

Aam party requested Punjab Government to approve the demand of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh as early as possible entitling the release of Sikhs who have already completed their imprisonment sentence. Members of the party said that the purpose of establishing the party is to fight corruption and to fulfill the demands of common people.

When the party saw that Bhai Gurbaksh Singh is fighting for the society and not for his self interest, we are supporting him. They said that, the movement is getting support not just nationally, but also internationally. He felt grief that apart from ” Dailyspokesman” and few other newspapers, all the Punjab media has maintained distance from Bhai Gurbaksh Singh. They said that we request all the media to support Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Ji.

We need Bhai Sahib to continue the struggle so I to would be happy if he stopped the hunger strike. What should happen is that Badal and the leaders of ALL Jathabandis , Sants , Babas should pledge that they will follow concrete proposals to help victims of the Genocide. They should pledge this publicly at the Akal Takht in front of the Guru Granth Sahib.

UKL = Exactly Paji. Everyone in the Panth wholeheartedly supports Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa's sacrifice and commitment for the Panth via the medium he has taken. But what he can achieve alive and active in the next 30 years imho is far far more than he can achieve as a Shaheed. Watching his speeches on TV i'm just amazed at his physical condition and strength and alertness. But I think we need to draw a line in the sand after Bhai Sahib reaches Sri Akal Takht Sahib that no Gursikh will ever fast and potentially risk their life in this manner, when we need years and years of active Dharam Yudh from all dedicated Dharam Sewaks to roll back the effects of the last 30 years of Genocide.

UKL = The prisoners issue is about straightforward justice and must be pursued but we cannot lose sight of the fact that illiteracy, drugs, female infanticide, biraderi controlled golaks and alcohol are killing or destroying millions of Sikhs lives as opposed to the lesser numbers of our innocent long-suffering political prisoners and their families. All of the Unity we have right now has to be channelled on attacking those modern day channels of our ongoing Genocide. I don't think we need pledges from people who are not seeing the bigger picture in terms of where our Qaum is today compared to 30 years ago ... we just have to play our own part and get everyone we know on the same agenda for total upliftment of the Panth (rather than just our innocent prisoners). It was Sangat pressure that finally got the main so-called Sant Baba's at Gurdwara Amb Sahib at the last minute as Sant Samaj knew they were losing credibility and had to save face so I think most ordinary Sangat can see that pledges from those who didn't care in the early stages might not be too wholehearted.

Bhai sahib jee gone way up ahead despite having hundreds of thousands of support from sangat would still abide the hukam from Sri Akal takht. His humbleness and sikhi spirit didn't let ego enter in his mind. Being a very simpleton sikh he manages to bring awareness to the issue that nobody ever did so in a such large scale.

Many famous folks with their egoistic mind didn't follow the hukam from Akal takht but bhai sahib set the great example even his very close organizers disagreed. Though I personally rate 0% the way sgpc or Akal takht handled this issue but in this age we are helpless because of lack of gurmat principled but outcome is that bhai sahib will be safe.

ROLE OF INDIAN MEDIA AND BRAHMINS IN SUPPRESSING MINORITY RIGHTS

Indian ‘Journalist’ Slams Gurbaksh Singh Than Admits to Receiving Information from ‘Agencies’
Harpreet Dhillon | Dec 26, 2013 | 3 comments

After 42 Days of his Hunger Strike, the Indian Media has been almost entirely absent – until now.

In an article published by the Hindustan Times, journalist Pawan Sharma paints an entirely one-sided picture. From labelling Gurbaksh Singh a radical and militant to calling him a liar to questioning the authenticity of his fast, Mr. Sharma provides an unbalanced piece that disallows anyone from Gurbaksh Singh’s team an opportunity to voice their concerns.

Mr. Sharma attributes his claims to an “anonymous” government source that suggests the hunger strike by Gurbaksh Singh is a “miracle” or as Mr. Sharma suggest a farce and a lie.

Fortunately, in a video posted on facebook, when confronted by a Canadian medical practioner, Dr. Avtar Singh from British Columbia, the journalist is asked how he can verify the validity of his claim that Gurbaksh Singh has only lost 4 kg’s of weight, without knowing his starting and current weight.

Mr. Sharma who initially refuses to answer the question after being asked repetatively finally concedes that the information he received has come from the Government Agencies and Doctors.

In India, the term agencies is often used to describe the secret service and intelligence bureaus that work diligently to suppress minority rights and movements.

Have a look at the article and listen to a recording of the conversation below.

Was it a Fast or farce?

Pawan Sharma, Hindustan Times Chandigarh, December 26, 2013

Fast or farce! This is the question now being raised about the record-breaking 42-day fast-untill-death drama that ex-militant Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has been enacting on the sacred forecourt of Gurdwara Amb Sahib at SAS Nagar.

What has left many surprised, including doctors, is the apparently legendry fitness of this hardliner, who in the eyes of his constituents had volunteered to starve till death, seeking release of six Sikh convicts sentenced to life imprisonment.

Misinformation was at the core of Khalsa’s fast from the beginning of his fast on November 14. He and his advisors had been demanding six prisoners’ release on the grounds that they had completed their life term.

However, the law of the land is that period of imprisonment for life is equivalent to jail for entire remaining natural life, unless the competent authority commutes the sentence. Life imprisonment thus means imprisonment for entire life.

However, the haze surrounding this “hunger strike for a cause” points towards Khalsa, who was like a pawn in the hands of a handful of radical leaders, clearly faking and resorting to blatant lies and deceit about his fast.

Last week, when Khalsa was taken to Fortis Hospital for a medical check-up, the doctors were left agape.

“All his body parameters were normal,” the elated team of doctors examining him had informed the Punjab government, which had been keeping its fingers crossed.

So, what was been keeping Khalsa kicking and in high spirits? During medical examination, it was found that he had not lost more than 4-kg weight, even as the fast had been on for five weeks.

Doctors at Fortis Hospital, on condition of anonymity, claimed that though Khalsa was examined for problems in upper respiratory tract his other body parameters were also stable.

According to a gastroenterologist, if a person skips food for three-four days weight loss and dehydration are common, which was not the case with Khalsa. Nor did he signs of tiredness. His blood sugar level was also within range and not low.

Experts claimed a fasting person loses at least 4-kg in the first week and minimum 250 gram weight per day subsequently, apart from other complications. Thus, even with conservative estimates, Khalsa should have lost over 12 kg, if he was actually on fast-untill-death.

However, on Wednesday when he announced the end of hunger strike, Khalsa was as fit and fine as on day one.

As the Indian Govt/Badal and the Sikh organisations under their control feel as if they have been made to look like fools by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh, its expected they would start a smear campaign. Whereas Badal/BJP was 'Ok' with the Rajaona protests as they were directed against the Central Congress Govt, he did not like protests against his own human rights violations. You had the strange situation where clean shaven singers were protesting, whilst our Panthic organisations stayed quite or tried to disrupt things.

Both the BJP and Congress have started a smear campaign against the AAP party that won elections in Delhi as it has upset the existing parties ways of doing things. As in Punjab the powerful forces hate the people exerting power.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
