There you go! Thanks Mehtab Singh !

Open Letter To Bhai Gurbachan Singh:

December 8, 2013

It is indeed a sad statement on your integrity as the Akal Takhat Jethedar whereby you have failed to support the Sikh Sangat and Bhai Gurbaksh Singh by declaring the hunger strike morcha of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh as anti-gurmat after meeting Sukhbir Badal and you have failed to uphold the sanctity of Ardaas that you were part of on December 4 , 2013. I and many Sikhs around the globe have been watching your actions as the current Akal Takhat Jathedar with great dismay as you have consistently failed to act in accordance with upholding Sikh values, pursuit of justice for Sikhs and most importantly in standing in solidarity with the Sikh Sangat on critical issues affecting the Sikh Nation. Your failure to fully support Bhai Gurbaksh Singhs peaceful and just hunger strike which the Sikh Sangat has endorsed is a critical example of your lack of leadership and vision. I have lost confidence in your ability to represent the Sikhs as Akal Takhat Jathedar and as a humble member of the Sangat, I request that you resign from this post immediately.

While I have full faith in the institution of the Akal Takhat as ordained by our Panth, it has been clear from your statements and actions that you as Akal Takhat Jathedar are not to be trusted with the responsibility and honour of representing the Sikh people. Please take note that I, Bhai Avtar Singh , a medical doctor in Surrey, Canada no longer consider you as Jathedar of Akal Takhat. I am confident that the Sikh Sangat too will in the near future act to remove you from this critical position and appoint a true Jathedar who is an example of Khalsa spirit and service to the Panth.

Avtar Singh .

I think the real culprit here is SGPC ! Dismantle this whole sangats' money eating machinery. There should be a Amritsar Spring revolution !

No, Nothing wrong with SGPC. Problem is the people controlling it. Dismantle the western style democratic electoral system in SGPC. That is the problem where corrupt people are being elected. Khalsa needs to come back to the traditional selection system.

Kick out Gurbachan Singh and dismantle SGPC. Real challenge is electing real Khalsa.

I think best way would be for all REAL Panthic jathebandian to appoint Khalsa from each jatha. So one from Taksal, Nihang Singhs and AKJ. That way they can balance each out.

Having over representation of any one group without checks and balances would be bad.

Put in sant baba nihal Singh hariyan velan vale or sant baba hari Singh randhawa. They would do great as jathedars.

Agree with Baba Nihal Singh Jee but strongly disagree with Baba Hari Singh Randhawe waley. He is very knowledgeable no doubt, but he cannot go against party lines and as a result stays quiet in regards to Badal. Bhai Ranjit Singh, the former Jathadar of Akal Takht had a backbone and was not scared nor intimidated by Badal.

Shaheed Gurdev Singh Kaunke was also a good Jathadar. He had knowledge/Gian of Gurmat, fully Rehitvaan and was not scared to become a Shaheed. But ideally we need a Singh like Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale to become Jathadar of Akal Takht. That would be a dream come true.

Discussing which Jathedar should be appointed now is like discussing what color of Bana Jathedar ji would wear on the first day of being appointed. In this current time even if you had a Jathedar who stood up to Badal, he would be eliminated in some fashion and a puppet Jathedar would be appointed once again. Imho.

I believe its better to let know your relatives in india that it is time to elect another party and politically overthrow Badal. No more who will destroy Sikhi at a slower pace. Give the people of punjab to vote for a party that is actually looking out for their welfare.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
