I noticed the painting of Dayanand in the back, that's why I was keen to find an arya samaji viewpoint. The word's foreign origin and negative meaning has been discussed on RSS forums too.

What I find awesome is the title of the book where the quote in post #39 is taken from:

Maharishi Shri Dayanand Saraswati Aur Unka Kaam , edited by Lala Lajpat Rai, published in Lahore, 1898

That is; "Maharishi Shri Dayanand Saraswati Aur Unka Kaam".

Kaam. As in lust.

No one is mocking Hindus here. Please read the entire thread. Moreover, Dayanand was a guy who ridiculed all prophets and even our Gurus. Plus the historical points from Ramayan and Mahabharat are true facts accepted by all Hindus. So where is the mocking? Mocking is when Indians portray Sikhs as clowns in their movies, TV serials, TV commercials etc. That is mocking, this is brainstorming

The same Sant did a lot to help these "dhotiwaale, topiwaale, cow worshippers" as compared to whoever claimed to be their leader back then. You heard these phrases but chose to filter out the other things that were done FOR the same people?

I am pretty sure you don't know me that well, because I am not (a.) 18 years old, or (b.) sitting in my mom's basement or (c.) singing Khalistani songs. You're messing with the wrong guy here, someone you don't know and ofcourse wouldn't want to know either. No one's intention is to perturb any supposedly "major" civilization, because in this day and age of the world being a "global village", the concept of "civilizations" is different the way it is in history text books. And in case you're unaware, we do have Sikhs from Muslim/Jewish/Christian/Hindu/Chinese backgrounds/ancestry, making Sikhi compatible across the board.

Sorry, Guru Sahib made Sikhs to stand out, so you may choose to speak for yourself. If the major civilizations tomorrow decide that everyone is to look the same, i.e. Sikhs have to abandon their Sikhi saroop, then you might be surprised to know how many Sikhs choose NOT to go along, and yes, that does include me.
