A Very Bitter Truth That Needs To Be Expressed

Yeah thats exactly what the Pandit dude is saying in the video I posted.

I noticed the painting of Dayanand in the back, that's why I was keen to find an arya samaji viewpoint. The word's foreign origin and negative meaning has been discussed on RSS forums too.

What I find awesome is the title of the book where the quote in post #39 is taken from:

Maharishi Shri Dayanand Saraswati Aur Unka Kaam , edited by Lala Lajpat Rai, published in Lahore, 1898

That is; "Maharishi Shri Dayanand Saraswati Aur Unka Kaam".

Kaam. As in lust.

Seems to be part if his legend. He must have done a lot of kaam :lol2:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, no man here kaam means "work", not lust.

Yeah, I knew what they meant too. But hey, that don't mean it's still not funny as hell!!!

But funny thing is, why would Indians have one word to mean "work" and "lust"? Is lust their work? Perhaps that explains their over-population! Time to find a new word for "work", lets suggest them to use "kaaraj" instead.

I agree dude, they need to take this issue seriously. I mean like, it's kinda embarrassing! You might have to explain this to children and everything

Mocking Hindus like this is not a trait worthy of a noble Sardar ji.

Who's mocking Hindus here?

Unless of course you are mistakenly inferring that Dayanand was a "Hindu".

In which event, a Jain insisting that the leader of the arya samaj is in fact a "Hindu" is probably, albeit unwittingly, one of the greatest wind-ups ever. Kudos to you bro.

In case you don't understand, watch the video that Mehtab Singh has posted.

No one is mocking Hindus here. Please read the entire thread. Moreover, Dayanand was a guy who ridiculed all prophets and even our Gurus. Plus the historical points from Ramayan and Mahabharat are true facts accepted by all Hindus. So where is the mocking? Mocking is when Indians portray Sikhs as clowns in their movies, TV serials, TV commercials etc. That is mocking, this is brainstorming :)

Point 1: What do you say about the 80s when certain famous sants and his acolytes were saying things like "dhotiwala" "topiwala" and "cow worshippers?" and a host of other derogatory and inflammatory terms?

Point 2: Dayanand conducted his greatest attacks against hindus and hinduism itself.

BTW, I highly doubt the major civilizations of the world - muslim, jewish, christian, hindu and chinese are going to be perturbed by some 18 year old sitting in his moms basement singing khalistani songs. The major civilizations of the world decide the direction of this planet everybody else just goes along including yourself. Your house of cards can be dropped by a single phone call.

Point 1: can you give names and the exact quotes before making such out of context statements?

Point 2: true

btw, Don't be too confident about which direction civilization will go because sometimes over confidence can cause the downfall of civilizations, empires and nations.

The same Sant did a lot to help these "dhotiwaale, topiwaale, cow worshippers" as compared to whoever claimed to be their leader back then. You heard these phrases but chose to filter out the other things that were done FOR the same people?

Point 2: Dayanand conducted his greatest attacks against hindus and hinduism itself.

So what do I do then?

BTW, I highly doubt the major civilizations of the world - muslim, jewish, christian, hindu and chinese are going to be perturbed by some 18 year old sitting in his moms basement singing khalistani songs.

I am pretty sure you don't know me that well, because I am not (a.) 18 years old, or (b.) sitting in my mom's basement or (c.) singing Khalistani songs. You're messing with the wrong guy here, someone you don't know and ofcourse wouldn't want to know either. No one's intention is to perturb any supposedly "major" civilization, because in this day and age of the world being a "global village", the concept of "civilizations" is different the way it is in history text books. And in case you're unaware, we do have Sikhs from Muslim/Jewish/Christian/Hindu/Chinese backgrounds/ancestry, making Sikhi compatible across the board.

The major civilizations of the world decide the direction of this planet everybody else just goes along including yourself.

Sorry, Guru Sahib made Sikhs to stand out, so you may choose to speak for yourself. If the major civilizations tomorrow decide that everyone is to look the same, i.e. Sikhs have to abandon their Sikhi saroop, then you might be surprised to know how many Sikhs choose NOT to go along, and yes, that does include me.

Your house of cards can be dropped by a single phone call.

Go ahead and make the call then. Do you have the number?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
