Yeah i may not be amritdhari, but at least we dont promote caste especially on Sikhi channel. Too right its daft, double daft. Anybody that is lookin for caste marriage can go on any other site. Mak

Veer ji, sangat tv's matrimonial show simply is caste based. I personally do not like the show as people should take a stance on the caste issue in sikhi. If only sikhsangat.com had the same stance on caste, as they do with the none discussion on the meat issue, the matrimonial website would have no place on here.

Show's are generally meant for entertainment, Sangattv wants more viewers & sponsors so they went with the norm.

I don't think there would be many willing to marry out of caste, unless a person drives Ferrari.

In a market place you can only pick what is on offer !

Anyways good luck to all.

They have too many conditions such as £75, you must provide government ID photo, you must provide high quality photo and only then you have a chance to view full profiles and have yours accessed. With all that on top alot of rivals don't charge that much and don't ask for government ID photos. Try shaadi.com - As for caste you can check caste no bar; but for some people caste means enough not to marry out so that option occurs, then the meat and alcohol one is of lifestyle it's one for some and not for others, then for others it's something adjustable.

So should we all go along with caste, or if we really believe in sikhi and its teaching, try to do everything in our power to kick it out where it has no place? I myself am not married through caste, also neither my wife or I have a Ferrari. Rather than promote caste based marriage, should we not rally to marry within sikhi itself with no basis on caste?

Also an entertainment show is something like "kaun banega gur sikh pyara" on The Sikh Channel. The Matrimonial Show is what it's title states,

Caste is wrong! You cant have a caste and claim to be sikh. Yet we believe in caste and then add singh and kaur to our names....and to think the shaheed gave their lives for this name.

I started the thread to make readers aware of a new Sikh matrimonial website in UK.

That's it !

Whether they want to marry someone within caste or not, is their (mostly parents) decision.

You had your choice now let them choose.

Money is mostly top priority, otherwise there are plenty of prospective brides & grooms in each caste or religion All Over The Globe.

UKL = Well said Paji and proud of you Paji (and my parents and granparents) for marrying across historic, outdated and irrelavant biraderi lines as an ever increasing percentage of our Qaum are doing year by year. The GurSikh background of no caste affiliation has to be forcefully made the majority background of our Panth in order to destroy the anti-Sikh concept of caste.

UKL = DS Bal of Sikh Channel (via his partnership with the Muslim Jatt record label that has a majority of bhangra artists on its books and responsible for the sister station's programming damage to our youth) and Sangat TV need to be flooded by our emails of protest in order to take notice that they may lose direct debits if there is continued inaction regarding the promotion of anti-Sikh concept like caste on supposedly so-called Sikh television stations.

Brother, I have nothing against you, but my problem is what you just stated... Its not a "sikh matrimonial website" in my sikhi there is no caste!? You sound so passionate about sikhi in various different posts however why be so relaxed about caste? This is simply not a sikh website. It is a matrimonial site for various castes? Where does the sikhi come into it? I get sick of this very point. You cant be sikh and have a caste.

    • They are all in it together. That's how they make it a culture, hence 'systemic'. The football fan types just articulate what the more clever, devious types up top believe and promote. The working class guys express their thoughts. So whilst a racist manager/director might deviously make an ethnic's life difficult at work through selectively handing him/her the most difficult work, and set them up to fail. The lower end ar5eholes will be the ones who will be implementing this plan and directly creating a toxic environment for the targeted people.  And they routinely turn a blind eye to racism, even if they don't actively participate. Explaining it away as 'banter'.
    • I don't think you have any independent thoughts. You just seem to parrot what a racist white boy would want you to say, to the point of even adopting their lexicon to frame your 'arguments', like you are one of their chumchay spokesmen. I mean this seriously, not trying to offend you. What you're doing is like what Priti Patel does, but on a lower level.  I don't get what you are saying here?

    • I am sure theres many sikh videos of weddings. Look at rainsbai weddings. Or akj weddings.        There is milni. As the girls side of the family is in charge of the venue. They get their earlier and prepare breakfast langar ( cha pakore etc). Then when the groom and his family come over. They meet each other outside the gurudwara in the parking lot. Ideally the girls family should be doing kirtan with vaja dholki of Aye Mil Gurshikh... as they welcome the grooms family. but if noone from the girls family is a musician, the two families can just greet each other with fateh. Then each of the relatives are introduced to their contrapart. The father meet the father in law. They can say fateh and give sarope to each other. Then the mothers, brothers, uncles, aunts. Then the grooms party is invited to eat langar ( i think they do this before matha teking and as they are sangat, they are allowed to eat first...i think) After langar, groom and his family go matha tek. The groom sits in front of the sangat where they do matha tek.  Then bride walks in. Matha teks, sits next to groom. The palla ardaas is done. Then the shabad about Pallai taindai laagee (or is shabad done before?) And then lavaan etc.
