Mahima Of Wahiguru, His Nam & His Gurmukhs ....

Raag Maaroo Guru Amar Das

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਕੋਈ

Bin Sabadhae Paar N Paaeae Koee

बिनु सबदे पारु न पाए कोई

Without the Shabad, no one can cross over to the other side.

In this one line, Sachay Patshah Sree Guru Amar Das, is telling us, that union with Wahiguru, or merging oneself in Him, is possible only by attaching ourselves to the Shabad or Nam within ourselves, which ferries us from this perishable world, to our true home in Sach Khand.

We may perform any charitable or pious actions, or let us say good karmas even, or sacrifice our lives also, but if that one abhyaas of Nam Simran is not done by us, then we shall remain in the perishable creation, such s the way fashioned by Him, of Nam Simran, to merge in Him.

Sat Sree Akal.

Why don't you enlighten us Balbir Singh ji and tell us what you believe is the answer is to your own questions.

You obviously will not agree with Harsharan's response anyway so why not just give your own opinion and let the sangat who are reading decide whether they agree with your views or not. Trying to push your personal understanding and view by constantly asking questions is not beneficial to anyone and on the contrary it's rather annoying to put it politely. I for one really don't get what your trying to imply or what you believe or for that matter where you intended to take topic with this consistent approach.

Your obviously are very staunch in your views but fail to explain what they really are because judging from your constant barrage of questions you don't agree with what most Sikhs believe. So come on put something more substantial on the table rather than ????????????????

Pray Truth for all and say Sat Sree Akaal,
Dear all and Sat1176 Jee,

SGGS Jee is the authentic source for all your answers.

The true Guru clearly says that true Naam is received in the company of the Sadhu.
The true Naam is not received by reading.

Please do not ask me to write an article about it.

I feel you are a smart person to understand the Guru.
Please listen. Gurdev is singing.

ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਪੜਿਆ ॥੧॥

मै मूरख हरि हरि जपु पड़िआ ॥१॥

mai moorakh hari hari japu paRhiaa. SGGS Ang 163-18
Ego moorakh reads the Hari Hari Jap.

Pray Truth for all and say Sat Sree Akaal,
Dear all and Sat1176 jee,

You wrote "Which sadhu do you suggest we do the sangat of so they impart this naam on us?"

This is the first thing to remember. Don't search him with a crowd.

One proceeds on the inner journey alone.
One is pushed into the inner sky and the Guru is recognized. The flight begins.

A Sadhu is not recognized by a dress or a drama around him.
A Sadhu recognizes you and God's impulse that your earned Karmas are ripened.

In that case he picks you up from a crowd also.

  • 2 weeks later...

In the endless adventure of existence, God and man are comrades.

God is our one unfailing companion. He will never leave us.

We may try to run away from him.

But He will continue to follow us as our own shadow.

There is a meaning of mercy in everything that happens to us.

For God is All-love. He is All-wisdom.

He is too loving to punish, too wise to make a mistake.

Whatever happens in the Divine Providence happens for our own good.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
