1)"I'm buddhist"

2)"Oh really, what do you believe in then?????????"

1)"lol xD?"

Belgian friend frim Belgium and I had this discussion a while back. He always does this whenever someone says they're Buddhist and they don't even know what the basic tenets are. Same thing when they say they're Christian lol.

Anyone who took history class during his college days would agree that having your own country would solve tons of problems. Politics is important in our dharam - Miri piri concept.

Question one should ask: are you better off spirituality while being under undemocratic ruthless rulers? Or are you well off spirituality if your country charters are based on truly democratic rights?

Khalsa raj and Khalistan is same and there is no difference between these two words.

Very interesting post veer regarding miri piri. I would like to mention according to my research i don't think piri means raw politics, politics in modern world have very negative connotations. Miri is spiritual we all know, piri would be soldier/temporary to uphold/protect miri - dharma-spiritual sikhi.

Follow up question would be how much politics is needed in soldier/temporal(piri) to uphold dharma (miri-spiritual) ? I would assume hardly any in this day and age - unless off course one lives in monarch type country where one have to make concessions/sacrifice to live off ..!!

Answer to your question - most of us who live abroad in western countries cannot claim we are being under undemocratic ruthless rulers so khalsa in many ways already have spiritual and full democratic rights in abroad.

That's debatable, look at Buddhism they don't have country look how well they have flourished both in East and West.

Veerji, Buddhist living Korea and other countries can't be compared with Sikhs living in India. India is worst in human rights. Despite Buddh dharam being founded in India got no followers in India and one wonder why.

Also why their most respected spiritual leader Dalai Lama is fighting for Tibet?

Not really, I can't go out in public with Kirpan. I cannot join armed forces (I got rejected twice). I cannot serve in my local fire department and I cannot join local police force, I can't go to work on construction site without hard hat and list goes on and on. Yes we are free from ruthless rulers but majority of balaiti Sikhs have limited freedom and most of us don't realize that.

As far as i know dalai lama is fighting for autonomous tibet not seperate land/country at any case . India is agreed overall worst in human rights, key difference between tibetans and sikhs seperate country is while tibetans are consistent all across the abroad want autonomous both tibetans in tibet and tibetans living abroad but sikhs in india seems to be fine, they seem to be happy to get on with their life - happy to support badal/congress/aam admi, its only sikhs who abroad want khalistan?

It's like outsider is fighting for seperate land for insider those who does not want seperate land.

Well they don't know us, they don't understand out traditions, once they know our traditions, they seem to be accommodating..atleast in canada and uk.

Another question, assume khalistan is made by singhs in india.. Realistically,How many sikhs abroad move there forever?

For me highly unlikely sure occasionally for visit but not forever.. This is home for me as I can practice my faith freely in truly democratic secular society .. I cannot imagine moving anywhere else forever and start over with family.

Neo Jee,

how can you say they know our traditions, didn't you read about UK getting exposed for role in 1984 time period?

They knew about our traditions 150+ years ago and still show utmost disrespect and want to destroy Sikhs/Sikhi. And how about France, how accomodating are they?

And it's not only Sikhs outside of India who want Khalistan, there Sikhs are all around the world (including India) who want it.

It's easy to talk in the comfort that you're sitting in. Go to India and see the reality. And if you think it's a waste of your time, then at least look at videos, pictures and news of disgusting anti-Sikh acts carried out everyday.

And while I'm typing this you posted what I knew you were going to say:

Another question, assume khalistan is made by singhs in india.. Realistically, Would most sikhs abroad move forever?

Are all Arabs in Palestine?

Are all Jews in Israel?

Are all Buddhists in Tibet?

Are all Hindus in India?

Are all Catholics living near the Vatican?

90% Sikh Heritage Sites Are In Pakistan (and are being lost more and more everyday):

Guru Sahib travelled the world, so there are many historical sites all around the world.

But at least Sikhs should get the areas which were taken from them by the interference of British, Hindus and Muslims.

One can`t even go to Nankana Sahib without worrying about some Islamic militant trying to blow their heads off.

Watch the following video in this topic, you will see the reality:

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
