Hindus also have their own Mool Mantra - OM Satchitananda.. fairly popular used. What's next stop calling Sikh Mool Mantra as Mool Mantra because hindus have their own. Unbelievable paranoia, fear and insecurity, in next 50 years our traditional names will be reduced to dust if we keep following this type of mentality.

This reference should be more than enough i beleive- fwd to 1.22.49 But do listen to full katha of jaap sahib by sant jarnail singh khalsa bhindranwale even though its 2 hrs, each and every word can be expanded into infinite gyan - ..i remember listening to full katha last year in june, listened to it over and over again for 8 hrs and made notes for myself when i revise my notes its a tiny glimpse of infine ocean, i listen to again, i feel i still don't have iota of depth to grasp jaap sahib...this bani was truly made for everyone including bhramgyanis, real profound infinite depth of jaap sahib can only be anubhav in bhramgyan, for us mere mortals we can touch the tip of ice berg of jaap sahib.

Neo Singh Jee, Thanks for the video, much appreciated, I do Nitnem and Jaap Sahib Paath on a fairly regular basis, but wasn't aware of these details. It is much clear now, that I have a much better context from where the terminology is coming. Really can't question a Katha by Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale - Head of Damdami Taksal with immense knowledge of Dasam Granth.

I sort of agree with you as well, as naming the appropriate BAANI as SIKH GAYATHRI MANTRA is not appropriate, What Sant Jee is saying in the Katha is "Ethe Guru Gobind Singh Jee nein Gayathri Mantra da ucharan kitta hai" - and then the quote from SGGS Sahib Jee syaing with shabad of Bhai Namdev Jee.

Whatis mentioned inSGGS is- pandey tumri gayatri lodhey(farmer)ka khet khati thi le ke lakri tagri tori langad langad jati thi( rag gond naamdev ji) .Moreover the gauatri in hindu rel was not allowed for socalled shudras. Do we differentiate for any bani?Whoever is doing such acts of bringing brahmanwad in our faith thru backdoor is to be identified ,exposed and vehemently opposed HAM HINDU NAHIN HAIN take it for once &always

These are the mahapurakhs/ Gursikhs that I know who practised Guru Gayatri Mantra

1) Sant Baba Attar Singh Ji Mastuana wale did abhyass of this shabad while at Hazoor Sahib

2) Baba Harnam Singh Ji Rampurkhede wale

3) Giani Thakur Singh Ji talked about it many times during his katha, he said if Moolmantar is the King of all Mantras, then Guru Gayatri Mantra is the General.

4) One abhyaasi Gursikhi called it the crown of all mantras

5) Sri Harbhajan Singh Yogi called it the Shakti Mantra, essence of Jaap Sahib, just like moolmantra is the essence of Sri Japji Sahib

6) Dhan Dhan Baba Nand Singh ji kaleran wale, used this Guru Gayatri Mantra as one of the sampats in a Sampat Path that he finished in 2 years.

I feel that mantra is a mantra, there is nothing hindu or sikh about it, it is a science that we cannot understand and that our Gurus have given to us.

One should practise the jaap for a long time, if they really want to genuinely learn about it.

ਸੰ. ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ. ਸੰਗ੍ਯਾ- ਜੋ ਗਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਰਖ੍ਯਾ ਕਰੇ ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ. ਨਿਰੁਕ੍ਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਥ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸ੍‌ਤੁਤਿ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੰਗ੍ਯਾ ਹੈ. ਫੇਰ ਨਿਰੁਕ੍ਤ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਰਥ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤ੍ਰਿ- ਗਾਯ ਦਾ ਉਲਟ ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ ਹੈ. ਅਰਥਾਤ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ. ਤ੍ਰਿਪਦਾ. "ਸੰਧਿਆ ਤਰਪਣ ਕਰਹਿ ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ." (ਸੋਰ ਮਃ ੩) ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਦ੍ਵਿਜ (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਕ੍ਸ਼੍‍ਤ੍ਰਿਯ, ਵੈਸ਼੍ਯ) ਜਪ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ.#ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ:-#"तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं मर्गो देवस्य धीमहि, धियो योनः प्रचोदयात्"#ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ- ਜੋ ਸੂਰਜਦੇਵਤਾ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਵੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਣ ਯੋਗ੍ਯ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪਨਾਸ਼ਕ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਬੁੱਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ.#ਪਦਮਪੁਰਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਥਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵੇਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਯਗ੍ਯ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਾਵਿਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਰਧਾਂਗਿਨੀ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਯਗ੍ਯ ਹੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ. ਸਾਵਿਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ (ਲਕ੍ਸ਼੍‍ਮੀ ਆਦਿਕ) ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ. ਜਦ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਖਾਲੀ ਆਇਆ, ਤਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਲਿਆ. ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਨੇ ਮਰਤ੍ਯ ਲੋਕ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਗਵਾਲਨ (ਗੋਪੀ) ਲੈ ਆਂਦੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਉਂ ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੀ. ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਂਧਰਵ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਕੇ ਯਗ੍ਯ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ.#ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਇਉਂ ਦਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ- ਇੱਕ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮਲ ਹੈ. ਲਾਲ ਵਸਤ੍ਰ, ਗਲੇ ਮੋਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਰ, ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੰਡਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਮੁਕੁਟ ਹੈ.#ਵੇਦ ਬ੍ਰਾਹ੍‌ਮਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਕਰ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਵ੍ਰਿਹਸਪਤਿ ਨੇ ਲੱਤ ਮਾਰਕੇ ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਭੰਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵਖਟਕਾਰ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ. ਗਾਯਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ. ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਰਿਗਵੇਦ ਦਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਾਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਰਿਖੀ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਹੈ. ਦੇਖੋ, ਲੋਧਾ.#੨. ਛੰਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਜਾਤਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਚਰਣ ਛੀ ਛੀ ਅੱਖਰ (ਅਰ ਕੁੱਲ ੨੪ ਅੱਖਰ) ਹੋਣ, ਜੈਸੇ- ਸਸਿਵਦਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਮਰਾਜੀ.
