Why It Is Adviced By Gurmukhs To Keep Dhyan Not At Forehead For Ghristis?

Recommended Posts

No paji u are not mooraks, u have vast amount of knowledge, which is interesting to others, like me who knows nothing. I never knew bhagti was so deep and different levels of it. As long as one remembers god, better than nothing I guess, I guess I should not worry about wat right or wrong way n try to do as I can.

Thankuji for the advise.

The forehead area, is the spiritual door to enter the spiritual realms.

That is why it is known as teesra til or third eye, single eye, or daswan dwar, the "tenth door". The path leading towards Him starts from this point. This is in a way, a spiritual door, towards spiritual dimensions, towards higher consciousnesses.

Once one enters there, one leaves temporary the physicall plane, which is perceived by us through our 5 karma indriyas and the 5 gyan indriyas. But there in the spiritual realms, in the first two regions or planes, which are in the following order: astral plane, and then the causal plane, these 2 planes are travelled by the mind and the soul together, but after that plane, with the help Shabad Guru alone, one crosses that last barrier of mind and Kal, and reach Paarbraham...and under proper guidance of that Shabad Guru, one reaches Sach Khand, not otherwise ....

So you see, in order to achieve all this mentioned above, one has to start walking first to reach that door, and then enter through it bravely, this is the real job of a sikh, to become one with Wahiguru Akal Purukh

Gurbani, your Guru says keep your dyaan(focus) on the Shabad. People that say focus on these body points are misguided.

There are valid different techniques to still the mind in shabad-sas gras/swas swas/concentrating on third eye with shabad-reference points (meant to use as aids to transcedent)/ incorporated with shabad mentioned in gurbani based on stages, not misguidance- only who thinks of sikh spiritual path as black and white is misguided. I actually follow the way you mentioned- dhian on shabad its simpler but that does not mean other techniques are false if thats a case you will not find many references about them in gurbani. Sat veer ji can provide examples.

The focus is on the shabad with the mind and body. If listening to a shabad then focus on what is being said. If reading gurbani then focus on what is being said. If mind is wandering while rreading gurbani then keep repeating the same until minds stops wandering. ALso understanding more of why we are here helps the mind wander less. These are the instructions given by the Gurus. If doing simran then focus on the shabad that is being said repeatedly.

Focusing at the third eye point or other body parts is made up info by people of the past. Its there own failed attempts at trying to realise where they come from. All of a sudden they feel something and they think its a virtue. I am not stopping anyone from doing it. But shinning a light on this false practice.

Focusing on the third eye point or other body parts drags a person deeper into maya. Focusing on the shabad brings a person out of ignorance.

The shabad liberates people. These old people wanted to keep the people ignorant so they gave these instructions. A persons intellect does not increase and is dragged further into darkness where these old people that teach this garbage can exploit the common people in different ways.

If its done correctly with shabad/bairaag as mentioned in sant jvala singh harkhowal jevan kirnaie, sant isher singhji rara sahib divans, sant waryam singh ji divan atam marg etc it should not effect but then again everything is maya test in spirituality, its not so much fault of reference point which meant to be used as aid(if you wish to avoid as a caution its fine but do remember maya test will be there in different form)..real issue is individual perception surrounding it, for example- if you read sant isher singh ji rara sahib jevani, all the ridhia sidhia stood infront of him after agaya chakra(trikurti) opened up at very early age at this level, but bairaag was too much to milap with vahiguroo that they didn't pay any attention to their pleading.

Anyway enough of talk, we can talk about conceptual stuff all day long but we cannot do it practically and relate to our experience, its all waste.
