i was just wondering of the different ways i could do sangat. contirbuting to this forum and reading what others post on it, is dat sangat??

online discussion is not being emerged in the sangat, actually very few Gurdwaras actually allow non commitee members to actually discuss Sikhi on the norm. Its more like a dictatorship, I have yet to see a gathering where all points of view are heard.

You can do true sangat (sat sangat) the following ways:

- Good friends as company (gursikhs) or god-oriented people.

- At the gurdwara sahib sitting in the divaan.

- At a kirtan at someone's house.

Best Sangat: In the hazoori of Guru Granth Sahib ji.

To have sangath is to be amongst people who are praising vaheguru, and singing his beautiful naam, hence u do not necessarily need to know them on a personal level, its enough just to sit in a divan, with others who sing praises in the presence of siri guru granth sahib ji. to feel inspired and pyaar from others because they are praising vaheguru, is having sangat, this way we also join them and progress on our journey to vaheguru. 'mil sadh sangai, naam rangai'. BHUL CHUK MAAF KARNI JI, for this is just my interpretation.

Be careful on what kind of sangat is done, it must be SAT (truth) sangat - Where the truth is discussed, e.g. talking to people about Vaheguru and discussing questions/experiences of a spiritual nature can be considered SAT sangat.

The idea is to join your thoughts and ultimately your mind to the truth, so doing SAT sangat helps with this.
